Good game. Good for our confidence and getting our rhythm going. No one really had a bad game but we made some serious mistakes in the middle of the field that would have been seriously punished vs a better side.
My notes:
- Parks is not making a good case to start over Morales and may lose his spot sooner rather than later.
- Gudi takes a decent free kick, but he's still too damn slow on defense and looked gassed after about 20 minutes. Malte looked more solid defensively and I would prefer him in games where the opposing team has more dangerous wingers.
- Gray looked good in his debut!
- Medina's new found confidence is good to see and hope it keeps up.
- Sands still not looking like his usual self but this was vs FCC who have broken many of his bones...so..
- Morales continues to look like a solid player in the d-mid position with his limited minutes.
- No love for Haak

Despite the weakness of FCC, we used to never score from free kicks and corners. Then again, they did create other chances from open play in the second half. It could have ended 7-0. Difficult to say if it was a lot of merit from NYCFC or just incredibly inept and heartless play from FCC. They did not bunker, but they also did not press high with any conviction. I don't think DC had necessarily more talent than FCC but they surely had more will and more dignity. They bullied us off the ball, won 50/50 balls, whereas FCC just let us play.

Probably for TV. YES has Yankees at 6, so they would have wanted to get our game on TV and not on the app -- especially the home opener.
That was fun! What a performance. Even Gudi and Medina were great.
Medina's second goal is a clear candidate for Goal Of The Week.
I was shocked that Taty's goal wasn't listed as a second OG for Hagglund. It looked like a ninety-degree deflection.
Also, oh my god, the camera placement at YS is almost unwatchably bad. I'd forgotten. Can't tell at *all* what is happening on the far side of the pitch.

It's tough to please everyone. I hate the Saturday or Sunday evening games since I can't attend with the kids (or at all).
The Club has typically had a higher attendance with weekend day games than weekend night games, but it's worth doing both. There are a lot of night games coming up - too many if you ask me.

-Medina right place at the right time and nice strike. Let’s believe he’s gonna get even better.
-Gudi nice strike but lucky with poor wall placement and not a very good keeper. He does seem slow.
-There were long stretches where I couldn’t tell Taty wax on the pitch. Did he mean to bank it off Hagland for the goal?
Must have been a nice day to be in the Bronx. Sad I wasn’t there. Nice win though we still need to tighten it up for the better teams.

Really feels like the team needed a day like this.
Perfect weather, sunsplashed afternoon, home opener, return of fans, and they celebrate with a performance like that. A nearly perfect day for the team, and with all the negativity all over the place, it just felt like the entire organization -- and the fanbase -- needed a day like this.

I watched the full replay and here's my thoughts:
1. Parks was eh
2. Sands had another eh game as well.
3. I disagree with Gudi, I thought he looked good in the offensive half, not the defensive half. I would venture to say Ronny should try Alex Wing with Gudi if it comes down to needing it. (Necessity, not just because we CAN. I'm expecting injuries up top this year)
4. ME-FREAKIN-DINA! He had a really good game all-around
5. Taty was nowhere?
6. Gray looks nice!
7. Jasson looked like he really needed this 60'. He didn't play the best, but you could see flashes of really good play. Like all young players, I think with more time and play he's going to grow into it and become a really good player.
8. Acevedo and Morales both put in good shifts and I won't be surprised if Ronny starts using parks/sands and morales/acevedo as pairings later down the stretch
9. JOHNSON WAS GREAT TODAY! Some really good reaction saves.
10. It's really nice to see the boys win. What I would give to have been in the stadium today. For all the moaning people do on the forum, it's just nice to see the boys go out there and f shit up!
And finally, and this is I think something everyone who watched thought,
NYCFC on corners today: "Oh, is THAT what they're used for?"
Not for tv. It’s for weather. Was in a focus group and it was discussed. Summer nights. Spring day games. March and April games at 7 or 8 is freezing.

We had five set piece goals today! Five! Three goals on corner kicks. That's just incredible.

Okay okay I know this is going to be conspiracy levels of stupid but... the more I watch the replay, the more I'm certain that Taty kicked the ball at the FCC player on purpose. There's no way I can see that as him trying to hit the net, he was clearly aiming for SOMETHING in the middle, idk if it was an FCC player or an NYCFC player but the only other person from our team there is Shradi so maybe he was aiming for him? idk.
