the sweatshirt is not bad. but hell no for the price they want for it. only available at the team store so no idea how much it will be. my guess is the sweatshirt will go for at least $80+ and that's a hard no for me.

if they want the club to get engrained in the culture, they need to make the merch more affordable so everyone and buy and wear it. making it so only the 1% can afford to buy your stuff alienates the majority of your fanbase.

i went to adidas store and searched the soft lux line. and yea the hoodie is $80 so i assume the sweatshirt will be near that too plus the nycfc/ Yankee stadium mark up

I think that tifo was last year. I have no memory of a jersey exchange offer. If it did occur I'd like to know how many took advantage. I saw a report that it was roughly 100 in Seatle.

I thought it was just them stopping a few people in the entrances and on camera offering them a NYCFC jersey if they gave up the Messi one. Not sure it was a full offer

Typically they take the normal prices of everything & slap their own sticker plus ~30% markup just to sell it in the YS store. This time it appears they went too far in the markup & 1) didn't sell well & 2) saw the blowback and 3) seems there is an event at adidas they are also advertising, so may be releasing these out in the wild (outside of YS) with "normal" pricing & were going to get fried again once that happened.

Glad they are fixing & refunding, but man what a shitty look trying to fleece your biggest fans, way to go city.
