Nycfc Coaching Rumors

Kreis isn't the answer and the "he's a proven winner" bull shit needs to stop. He has done NOTHING good. His draft picks to his line up choices and has been tactically inept.
Yeah, winning MLS Cups suck. A big-name Youth Coach prepping the next wave of MCFC loanees is the vision we need for the future of New York City's club.

Edit: I can't be the only one who thinks that to the typical NYCFC season ticket holder (read: not us), Patrick Vieira's name means less. My girlfriend pays just as much for her tickets as I do, and hasn't been following the Premier League for ages. I told her Vieira, and she said "Who?"

It sure as shit won't mean anything to most US or NYC media, who we already face a serious uphill battle winning over.

i agree with the lineup issues, draft i dont know ( i dont follow college soccer nor did i follow MLS prior to this year) but viera isint a "proven winner" as a coach either

Lmao and y'all were talking Ancelotti. Let's replace Kreis with a guy who has no MLS experience. He doesn't even have first team coaching experience.
Yeah, I had the same thought. I'm not going to get pissed off yet, though.

Pep didn't have any first team coaching experience either when he took over Barca. That worked out okay.

On 14 July 2011, Vieira announced his retirement from playing and accepted a training and youth development role at Manchester City with the title of Football Development Executive. Athletic. In May 2013 Vieira was appointed as the club's new reserve team and Elite Development squad manager.

In May 2015, Vieira was interviewed to be the next manager of Newcastle United, an opportunity which both parties rejected due to difference of policies.

Newcastle is straight garbage, no one in their right mind would take that job. But hey you could be Sunderland...

Pep was a Barca legend when he was promoted. NYCFC has zero connection to Viera

Jason Kreis didn't have any head coaching experience or any ties to RSL when he went there, either. There's just no need to get upset about it, yet.

Some reasons to remain calm:
1. It hasn't happened.
2. If it does, we don't know how it will turn out.
3. It would be impossible to look any more tactically inept than we did this year.

I understand your point, but I am just not that bothered by it. MC is a club that's light years beyond us right now, so I don't see a problem in picking through their scraps for some help from players and/or staff. We don't have to re-invent the wheel. We have a blueprint right here via the sister club. Seems like MC fans think very, very highly of Vieira. If CFG are sending us their best people outside the first team, I don't see how that's anything other than an indication of how much they want our club to succeed and deliver more wins and a more appealing brand of soccer.
