Really enjoying the dialogue here. Don't know many people that are passionate about NYCFC so glad I have this board to talk about film breakdown.

Can I comment on Shelton's positioning throughout this play? He appears slow to make a run when the defensive backs up, then he just kind of hangs out behind the defender. He is in front of the net, but there is no passing lane to him from Poku. He basically takes himself out of the play.

Tom I totally agree. He pushes up to quickly and, as you said, takes him out of the play immediately. The only option he's giving Poku is to lob it in the box but the Goalie will easily grab that pass. You could also say the same about Mullins. Where was Mullins running to? I hope this film is broken down and they use it to improve both their awareness.
