NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

U.S. men's national team goalkeeper Brad Guzan is exploring a potential return to Major League Soccer in the January transfer window, according to league sources.

Guzan would be available on what could be classified as a non-Designated Player deal, according to one source. Another source, however, cautioned Guzan may be simply “testing interest” from MLS teams.

Yes please. The article notes that Atlanta United will be at the top of the allocation order though. Maybe we can make a blockbuster deal with them involving Mix.

Article also mentions that Guzan would be willing to do a non-DP deal. If Reyna could somehow flip Mix to Atlanta and get Guzan for less $$$...

As of two hours ago its looking very likely Johnson moves to Atlanta.

Buzzkill. Give us hope for a few hours before the cold reality sits in that we are stuck with Calamity Josh or unproven Lurch next year.

Sorry, but there's absolutely no way Guzan comes to NYCFC for below DP wages. NYC won't pay him a DP salary either. Besides he's from Illinois so it makes sense on a few levels.

Edit: Also how the hell does one write for the league yet have to rely on "sources" for possible information? Can't you just get the inside information?

Chicago bolstering with Schwiny and Guzan. That'd be a pretty nice offseason for them.

Come on now Claudio. What are you bringing to the blue!?!?!

Fabian Johnson to Atlanta...why? He's doing so well in Europe for that German team.

Edit: Sean Johnson. That's more an appropriate deal for Atlanta.

Where did FabJo transfer talk get into play?

FabJo to Atlanta mentioned on xm radio this afternoon.

Chicago is building something. Schweini to anchor the midfield with Guzan in goal is a good start. They drafted well last year and have some offensive targets. Looks like they are getting a striker from Legia Warsaw that Hull wanted.

If Fabian is really moving stateside, I would want him. More than Torres, Khedira, etc.
