Sean Johnson saves one, if not both, of those last night
How about the save Howard luckily made on the bouncer that hit him on the chest - he had no idea where it was going and was fortunate it didn’t go over his shoulder. He had nearly overrun the position needed for the save. Howard is a shell of his former self - getting fat doesn’t help mobility.
That was the last time the US will ever see Tim Howard (and a score of others that will never be around the federation again).
Semi-relevant, given my suggest of the Alvin Jones who scored the golazo.

No disagreement. But those names have been mentioned minimum 95 times in this thread.
Is there any evidence, at all, that it has any impact whatsoever?
I find the whole concept massively condescending, as if we have thousands of fans waiting in the shadows if only we'd sign someone with the same passport. I get that you see the odd Pirlo/Schweinsteiger jersey at the relevant MLS games, but if our grand plan to unlock the potential of NYC's diverse population is "Sign a foreign player and hope some other foreigners come too" then we're probably fucked.
I think that the concept is a little calculative, if not cynical or condescending, but I also think that the value of representation is real, at least for some people. But to your point, I'm also curious if there is data to back this up.
The Metrostars tried pandering to groups when they first started with Donadoni & Caricola for the Italian/americans and it didn't work so well. And then they tried with Guido, Joao Luiz, and Branco for the Brazilians, and it didn't really do anything. They also tried with Colombian players at one point. Nothing ever helped them, and granted, they played the worst possible soccer in the league at that time, but still, fans weren't coming solely for the nationalities of the players.
Not official data, but I can say Red Bull Arena was pretty packed compared to most of their games (aka any game not against NYCFC) when they played Chicago, mostly due to a ton of Schweinsteiger fans coming through. Ton of Schweinsteiger DFB and Bayern kits walking around the stadium. Now, I've also seen images of a half empty stadium that's "sold out" so I don't think looking at actual ticket sales for legitimate data will do anything. But, I'm under the impression that a big name can help some way in bringing outside fans to a game.
Chicago is an outlier. There were probably three factors to the attendance numbers:
1. Bastian
2. Dax comes “home”
3. Chicago is actually a good/fun team to watch.
We got a ton of new supporters when we picked up Pirlo. I know plenty of Italian-American season ticket holders who got their tickets simply because of Pirlo.
I think this really only fits the bill for several nationalities to be honest. I see it the most with Germans and Italians. I may be completely wrong, but I don't see that happening with the Polish.
And lets also remember just how HUGE Pirlo and Schweini are. Perhaps if we were to bring in a Lewandowski that would attract more Polish fans.
No question he bumped tickets, but was that because he is Italian or because he is Pirlo. My money is on the second.
It’d be the same if we signed Zlatan Ibra - we’d get a bump because he’s Ibra and not because he’s Swedish.
