NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

We know how the club likes players on the free. Shall we swap Medina and Maxi for Sanchez and Bale? We’d for sure sell a ton of tickets.

Not sure I'd take Carroll, but I think he could do well in the right system in MLS.
Did Nasri play at all or was he too busy getting IV boosts and cheating on his (ex?) girlfriend with the IV boost nurse(s)?? He was a decent player 5 years ago but haven't heard his name mentioned in a while. Curious if he's just fallen off the earth or still has something to give?

The general opinion seems to be that he never got fully fit or fully committed, but that on the few games when he stepped on the pitch there were moments of brilliance. Many fans wanted him to stay. IMHO he would be a huuuuge risk personality wise, but maybe he would find motivation playing in a league where he can be an offensive superstar and not have to defend as much. Let's remember that Carlos Vela had a relatively similar reputation at Real Sociedad, as a player who was ambivalent about giving his max effort, and was always with a foot out the door. I think for Vela to play in a team that is always putting the opponent against the ropes (instead of a small team being run over by Madrid, Barca, etc) and in a League where he is pretty much in a class of his own, are big motivating factors. He is a diva but he gives his best when he knows the applause is coming. Maybe Nasri would feel the same??

I think we'd be nuts not to want Nasri if he wanted to play here, but I think he'd be a LF or RF in the 3-4-3 and a CAM in the 4-3-3, in other words, exactly where we have Maxi in both formations.

Would probably force us once and for all into a 3-5-2 with a central midfield of Nasri, Maxi, and Ring while Mitrita and Heber play up top, and Tajouri-Shradi and Ofori are first bench options.

So Man City have Shaun Wright-Philips son / Bradley Wright-Philips nephew / Ian Wright's grandson in the academy. Listed as a midfielder. Anyone have any intel on this kid? The whole family has links to MLS, why haven't they given him at least a loan chance here?

Because he'd require an international roster spot. While we have the room for him, for other teams it would be a waste spending an international roster spot on an unknown, untested talent...

Let alone a DP spot, oh wait, Medina.
