Not about hearing him, but he's got a jewish name and that means half this forum would love him without seeing anything else.

Santiago Rodriguez apparently sent a goodbye post to Nacional today. So seems like he could be on the way.
Is he the one tha was debated which CFG team he's going to?
From what some folks on Twitter are saying, sounds like he's going to Torque immediately, but then may be coming to MLS in June.
Will he be loaned to Torque or have a contract with a mythical "break clause?"
I'd be less annoyed with that possibility if CFG didn't backstab us the last time they did it. Also need to know if he'll be DP or regular roster with Garber Bucks. If DP, he's not worth waiting until summer.
I'm not really sure. We have these discussions here and in another thread, but this is what I saw on Twitter, take it FWIW. It's not clear as to the exact details (in fact, doesn't explicitly state NYCFC, but I think that is assumed). Also don't know much about this guy's reputation, does he have good info, etc, but I don't have any reason to think he's full of shit at the moment.
its a loan, it was always a loan. He was bought in November by CFG and loaned to Nacional for the remainder of the tournament. That tournament ended and now he is being loaned to Torque until June in a new tournament. Then he will come here ( or giraona, since that still seems like a possibility with some of the twitter chatter from there)
My loan or break clause question was not an actual inquiry but an apparently too obscure reference to the shifting lines of BS they fed us throughout the Lampard fiasco.
Tom Bogert was on Extra Time and was asked about Santi Rodriguez and he said he "Hopefully, I don't have anything definitive on that [move]. From who I've talked to at NYCFC, they at least weren't telling me anything is done there and that there's still at least a possibility, if not momentum, that he might go to Girona in la Liga, another one of their affiliate clubs."
I wanted to quote it because I'm not sure whether only the first part (not a done deal) is from the club, or whether he also heard from NYCFC about Girona.

Hes bought by CFG, that is fact. however, the initial reports in uruguay mentioned girona or nycfc as destination options. the chance was always there. I think it really depends on how he does in Torque. if he does really well hes going to spain.
i feel this is different than Lampard as that was supposed to be straight signing for us and announced here officially ( in an athletic article i read a while ago, allegedly he was never thinking of playing in Man city, but that an "opportunity" arose....i think its BS but whatever at this point). For Santi we are only going by other reports and rumors so if he ends up spain its not like a straight bait and switch like lampard.
yea im not that guy for that. i dont get attached to players when i follow a team its the team i follow good and bad times.
It's not like anything yet because nothing has happened. And even if they announce he's playing at one CFG team for the first half of 2021 and joining us midsummer, it won't fully be like Lampard unless he then backs out.
But until CFG earns more trust, the organization deserves every false comparison joke and dig we keep making.
Ighalo is now officially available. He would be be a superstar in MLS.
