NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

What would it take to get Christian Ramirez from Minnesota united

Good question. Miguel ibarra sold from that team for a million. I think that ramirez isnt at that market value, so maybe 800 k. He would be good backup; but idk about starting. Although ive only seen him a handful of times, so maybe i am wrong who knows.

How would we possibly play the diamond? Where does Pirlo play? This makes no sense. The funny thing is that Villa actually doesn't fit this team now.

Who do you see us taking in the Super Draft?
Dream pick would be Joshua Yaro a defender from Georgetown but I doubt he falls past the first couple of picks. Also another huge prospect is UCLA forward Abu Danladi who trained with Chelsea this past summer. He is probably the best forward in college soccer outside of Jordan Morris. I also wouldn't mind a young talented Goalkeeper.

Villa fits, because he's our best player and you design around him. It's a stretch to play him by himself up top, but it has shown some flashes of success.

Either Lampard or Pirlo don't fit. Mix and Jacobson shuttling and covering defensively for Pirlo at the bottom of the diamond would have worked well. Poku at CAM and Villa with a strike partner. But with Pirlo and Lampard, you have to take off one of the strikers and change up your midfield structure.

If you have watched the past few games, Andrea Pirlo is the best player on the pitch. It's not about scoring goals (something Villa hasn't been doing by the way). Lampard is probably the second best player on the pitch.

My point is that with Villa you need two strikers, and with Lampard and Pirlo you need a third central midfielder for defensive purposes. But there's only one spot on the field available (unless you play a 4-2-2-2, my new preferred formation).

I think it would be silly to replace Villa with a striker who can play up top by himself. Rather, it would be best to replace one of Lampard or Pirlo with a DP striker to balance out the formation. But that's not going to happen for at least another season.

Rumored that Mike Magee is out of Chicago after this season. He'd be an excellent veteran to add to the attack, and I can't imagine he'll be getting DP money anywhere else.

Please no, I lived in Chicago during his first two seasons with the Fire, biggest whiner I have ever seen play. He's slow, not that skilled and scored a lot of goals off lucky bounces. He's hurt all the time and accumulates tons of yellow cards for his constant bitching at the refs which cause more missed games. Trust me as someone who went 5-6 games during his golden boot season it was a total fluke, he's never pulling that off again. Plus he's small, if we are switching back to 2 strikers we need a strong target forward next to villa to hold up play and be a threat on Pirlo's corners.

Nasri making comments a year into his 5 year contract with MC saying he wants to play for MLS. Seeing as his contract is through 2019, is there any way we could end up with him on loan before then? The last article below describes him as mostly on the bench for MC last season and this season. Send him over here, we'll gladly sit Grabavoy...

It amazes me that their are people who actually follow college soccer I find MLS to be hard enough to watch quality wise if it's not NYC.

What do you all make of RSL's Luis Gil?

He's on 240k now, for comparison Calle makes 200k. A midfielder for the USMNT U-23 team who's played well with them, and just ok for RSL.

You know Kreis likes his old players.

needs a change of scenery. Plays best in a 4-3-3. Could be a great pick up if we can nab him. But is an attacking midfielder a priority right now?
