He's young, build for the future. Poku can't play every positionneeds a change of scenery. Plays best in a 4-3-3. Could be a great pick up if we can nab him. But is an attacking midfielder a priority right now?

I look forward to rolling out an 11 midfielder lineup next year.
I'm still on the Gboly train. Hopefully, many of you finally saw him last night. He would be a revelation for us with his willingness to take on defenders. What do you all make of RSL's Luis Gil?
He's on 240k now, for comparison Calle makes 200k. A midfielder for the USMNT U-23 team who's played well with them, and just ok for RSL.
You know Kreis likes his old players.
It's kinda weird that Orlando keeps getting mentioned as a destination for these players. Maybe for vacation but not football.

Well, it's coming from their camp. If any team wanted to be linked to those players, all they have to do is mention those players to the press.
It's a dangerous game though. Eventually they lose credibility and get laughed at, if that's not already happening.
I don't know if Penedo is over rated, I would rate him slightly higher than Saunders. Just not high enough to replace Saunders.Penedo is overrated. No thank you.
Orlando's Brazilian owner runs his mouth. He is the one that links all of these players with the club. This is what happens when an international game grows in the US.
Kaka is still an amazing player. I thought he faded and was washed up...I was wrong looking at how he plays. Orlando can do well adding another quality star.I don't know if Penedo is over rated, I would rate him slightly higher than Saunders. Just not high enough to replace Saunders.
As for da Silva, he does talk a lot but he also talked big about getting Kaka and he did get him. Sounds not completely unreasonable for Orlando to get one or so of these high profile players.

If NYCFC can only fix one of the three areas, Forward, Mid and Back, which area do you think needs the most urgent improvement?
Applying the money ball concept/stats analysis, anyone has analyzed what gives the biggest bang of bucks, paying for a top CB or top Goalie? I imagine, over the short term, goalie gives the quicker return (although may not be the highest return in the long term)? Put in another way, between somebody like Neuer or somebody like Sergio Ramos/Boateng/Kompany, which one should NYCFC pick?Backline.
If the question was, would I rather have Rio Ferdinand in his prime or Didier Drogba in his prime? I would always take the goal scorer.
That being said, the backline is the most glaring need.

Consider me in the Mena isn't all that bad camp. I know he has had some gaffes, but to me he's demonstrated that he should be one of our starting CBs next year.(Unpopular opinion alert) Assuming Facey stays and Angelino leaves I think a back line of our current players with a LB upgrade wouldn't be all that bad:
FA LB----Facey---Mena--- Iraloa
Facey and Mena are both young, athletic and have flashed individual defensive skills at times this year. Most of the issues have come from positioning, communication and being left out to dry by attacking FBs. A full training camp plus the experience with each other and the system should yield improvements in the communication and positioning area. A strong talented LB who focuses more on D than O will add support support and allow Iraola to attack as that seems to be his primary skill. Put a legit CDM in front of them next to Pirlo and things should be even better. For me the order of need is:
1. CDM
2. LB
3. GK
4. CB

I would prefer we get a veteran who can lead and coordinate the defense. Only Hernandez and maybe Wingert can fill the soccer brain req, but neither can be a starting CB IMO. Time to get a leader. How about trading for Drew Moor Colorado or Matt Hedges at Dallas?Consider me in the Mena isn't all that bad camp.
