NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

Rumor last year was Barcelona in the winter window when they are able to get players again. Plz don't let it be Manchester United.
He said a top tier club. Scum is out.

Eta: I am with sbrylski on not being sure if Johnson is what we need. I haven't seen him do much of anything since he was injured. Last thing I want is another old midfielder whonhas been released by the club who made his career. We've seen that movie before. And the sequel.

I said it on another thread but Marco Pappa is in the re entry and he only made $75k and can play the wing.

Then we better deal with Chicago, Colorado or Philly because they are all thinking the same thing and pick before us. Pappa played in Chicago originally.

David Texeira from FC Dallas would be a good pick up he's only 24 but sadly he's a DP
I think he is a transfer DP. Meaning, he was a DP in 2015 because they paid a transfer fee. He won't have that fee attached to his wage/salary hit for 2016 so he will just be $338k. However the bigger problem is he isn't on re-entry draft list, so we would have to trade for him. Not fun.

I'd love to see John Brooks come over to NYCFC but as a USMNT fan I'd rather see stay in Europe and move up to a better German team or elsewhere.
well as a NY fan I would love this too, but as a USMNT fan I prefer him stay over in Germany. He will develop more over there. He is shaping up to be the Jerome Boateng lite (this is not a disrespect against John). Jerome Boateng is a top five CB in the world, in my book.

I don't see any way Brooks would be able to come here. He would require quite a hefty transfer fee, which would make him a DP.

I think Leo Stolz from NJ would be a solid addition at CM. He spent the year with RBII but was a first round pick and had his option declined cause they have better options currently. Once Pirlo and Lampard leave it would open up the door for him to start, possibly with a loan move to Wilmington in 2016. Sure, the midfield right now doesn't need strengthening and the salary would probably be better put toward solidifying the back line, but this team has to start looking for future options in the Midfield. Plus his salary would be pretty minimal.

well worth the risk of 4th pick in the waiver draft

Going to throw a name out there - Daniel Sturridge.

Why? He's not going to stay at Liverpool. The transfer fee will probably be nominal, if anything.

If people in the league are pining for Balotelli, why not Sturridge? Would be an expensive flyer on an oft-injured player. But when he's on, he's as good as anyone.
