NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

Adarabiayo played in MC's friendly against Arsenal in the second half, alongside some blonde, tattooed leftback with the name "Tasende" on his kit :tonguewink:. Still rocking the 69 tho.

Edit: and yeah, Adarabiayo is freakin YUGE.

I guess it's only NYCFC that use nicknames on player's kits, (i.e. Mix, Angelino). Imagine a game where everyone had a nickname on their kit.

I'm still partial to "FUCK" being Saunders' nickname, but trainwreck will do.

And Angelino is like one of his middle 4 names or something, so it was understandable here. My best guess is Kolarov took one look at this little boy with Angelino on his back and held him by the ankles for lunch money, basically forcing him to consider something that sounded less like a girly pokemon.

There's actually a few more players than I thought who have a nickname/first name/other name on the back of their kits... LINK

His full name is José Ángel Esmorís Tasende [first name, middle name, first surname and second surname as is Spanish custom (generally the father's surname goes first and then the mother's surname but that's not always the case)]. Angeliño is his nickname. Perhaps the Premier League does not permit nicknames on the back of the jerseys?

In some cases they do - see his teammate, "Kun Aguero."

Chicharito was another EPL nickname.

How about these.

My two favorite things about this are:

1- Our lineup is now sufficiently stable that we are coming up "nickname" versions (which I thoroughly enjoyed!).
2- Ethan White at RB is so unappealing that RJ is his own backup.

1 - This is pretty much how I always post my lineups. Just keeping things light.
2 - I wish that's what it was. Just couldn't think of a good nickname and hoped nobody would notice.

what's the hey matarritta thing?
Macarena I suspect.

Bingo.

Most of the above are mine, although some are already familiar (Mix) or things I heard elsewhere (Jack Flash). I would love to come up with settled nicknames for each guy. Some of mine I like (McNaMullet, Q-Tip, 6 Train). Some are more meh... (Hernando, A.I.). If we got everyone thinking creatively, it could really work.

In the article above, it says that Adarabiayo is set for first team minutes this year with Denayer looking to leave.

Didn't realize Pozo had left. Sorry. I really liked him. He's playing in the second division. What am I missing here?

No clue about Pozo. I remember watching him score for City's first team at just 18 in a competitive match and thought that he was gonna be the next big thing. I remember when he left for Almeria and I assumed that the tweet I saw was a misprint and it was just a loan. But nope. He gone. That said, second division in Spain isn't the worst spot to get minutes and get recognized for a 19-20 year old.
