NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

I will say this: The year we got Lamps, even at 36(?), he was starting in the midfield of a Champions League game vs. Barcalona and just had a great season considering his injuries. Bastian can't crack the 18 for Mou right now. Makes you wonder if we should be setting the bar higher for DP signings.

We should set the bar as high as possible. But the reality is we have a small window to find help and limited resources.

Question on Schweinsteiger is whether he has the speed necessary to really excel in MLS (I honestly don't know).
I love Basti, and think he would excel in MLS depending on what we were to do with the rest of the midfield, but his knee problems later in his career would make me very nervous. He could be another Lamps situation health-wise.

Not making the lineup for Jose is actually a blessing - Jose honestly has no idea how to use the players he has while being petty with his pet players. That ManU team really sucks right now and looks beyond disheveled. It's no knock on Bastian to not make his 18, it's a popularity contest.

Can anyone go over the injury history for Bastian? I know he had a torn MCL in March 2016. Beyond that I find a lot of articles about various small injuries over the years. But hard to tell how significant each one was.

More broadly, is there a site that tracks player injuries over their careers?

Report that Schweini met with Paunovic of the Chicago Fire. Signing with Chicago and then getting injured and not playing seems to fit the Chicago narrative.

Maybe they have his discovery rights. $50k in GAM from NYC to CHI for rights to sign schweini confirmed.

A healthy Schwerin in MLS would be great.

I'm going to say no though. After watching us get destroyed by Toronto and NJRB, we need an athletic playmaker.

Other names I expect to get MLS looks in the next year - Keiswetter, Aron Johannsen, Joe Gyau
