NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

Leceister City is a game or two away from avoiding relegation. MLS transfer window doesn't close until May 11. It would sure be nice to find an immediate replacement at left back in the next two weeks.
An in-form replacement that can say, "I got this."

Consider this: Aron Johannsson is looking to leave Bremen this summer. Not that we're likely to get him, but I wonder if he'd come to MLS. I bet his fee will end up being pretty low at this point.

He's on the allocation list, so we'd have to trade up to get him if we want him.

I'd make that deal happen (TMac as part of the deal?). To get a young and extremely gifted American striker would be a coup. A guy like him takes a lot of pressure off of Villa to supply goals.
Definitely would be a great get, I'm just not sure how he would fit onto our roster/system. I know the simple thing is to move Villa to LW, I'm just not sure how willing he would be to do that and he's obviously been great centrally for us.

Aron has played on the wing.

Have been wondering whether Aron J. would come to MLS. He was off to a good start at Bremen, but the year long injury basically ended that opportunity. Not sure whether there are any lingering effects from the injury, but he could be amazing if he gets back on form.

He is going to have to go somewhere, which means either a lower tier league in Europe (back to Eriedivisie?) or a second level below one of the Big 5. Why not come to MLS?

Aron has played on the wing.
Has he? I won't pretend to have watched a lot of him, but when I have, its been centrally. And transfermarkt doesn't list anything other than a main position of CF.

I'm just not certain he has the tenacity to play on the wing for us. That said, I know sometimes TMac is out at LW for us, so maybe that's somewhat of a moot point.

On the MNT, he's been on the wing, shifted left, when not the sole striker.

I don't think Bacon is a winger. He's not particularly fast and doesn't make a lot of sense out there since his best attribute is being a sneaky, clinical bastard around the box.

Secondly, he has in the past quite clearly stated that he would like to come to MLS.

Finally, fuck no. I do not want him. Guys, he has some difficult to diagnose, impossible to cure myalgia type shit. No thanks.

Why is his nickname Bacon?

I don't think the formation we play is the one most appropriate for our squad as it stands now anyway. We should probably be in a 4-3-1-2 or 3-5-2. Either has two strikers. Whether that second striker is Jack Harrison or Aron J doesn't matter but our formation doesn't match our personnel and hasn't in 3 seasons.

I actually disagree. I think our current formation is quite close to fitting our current personnel save Pirlo and a better RB. I don't see Jack Harrison as a striker at all. Either a winger or a CAM.

If we really want to be literal, then we're probably more of a 2-3-5-0:
we have far more guys that are really attacking Mids (L/C/R) than we have true forwards/wingers (none except for Okoli since Villa really isn't a CF but more of a withdrawn forward). And we have a couple guys that are more DMids/pivots.
