ha, i saw the email and homeless FC ran though my mind immediately.
I'm actually kind of bummed out. I already sold these tickets, I would have liked to go to a game in Queens. This might be my only chance and I might have missed it.
Nah, I still think Belmont would become our Foxborough. 14k fans a game, and constant remorse.
I might switch to the Loons if that happens (I have roots in Minneapolis), or a non-MLS local club.

I had just purchased six tickets this morning on resale. Called to make sure the resale tickets were also going to get the auto-refund and discount on replacements.
I happened to mention that this is seriously affecting my decision regarding season tickets, and the fan services guy just jumped into arguing about “the beautiful thing about soccer and about supporting a team...”

As someone who lives within walking distance of Citi Field kinda torn about this. Love the idea of the team building a stadium in queens and for this game, I am going to love to be able to walk to the stadium on matchday. They kept it in the City so I can't be angry about that or the Yankees crew wanting to protect their presentation efforts and the field for the LCS. We need a stadium soon bc this is going to happen for a long time the way this Yankees team is built.

The club's stated explanation for the move does not hold water. See link for MLB playoff schedule below. The Yankees are the lower seed for the ALCS and if they advance to the Word Series will also be the lower seed as the Dodgers, Nationals, and Cubs all had more regular season wins. So the last ALCS game that could be played at Yankee Stadium is Oct 18, and the first potential World Series game is Oct 27, 5 days after our game vs Columbus on Oct 22. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I’m pretty sure the real reason they’re moving this is because they don’t want to alter the field at all during the Yankees playoff run, in case it affects the quality of the field. At this point I think the MLS playoff matches will be played only after the World Series, and the Yankees won’t allow a configuration change until their season is done. They don’t want the field conditions to change or risk deterioration at all.
