October 22nd Game Moved to Citi Field

I actually don't care about going to Citifield. It's a (gulp) better stadium, but the whole thing is a mess.

Not sure what can be done. If you're driving a borrowed car, you can't be mad when the owner wants to have it the week of his pregnant wife's due date.

It's not in Hartford. That's a massive win. I hope we show well and add fuel to the Queens location fire.

I’m pretty sure the real reason they’re moving this is because they don’t want to alter the field at all during the Yankees playoff run, in case it affects the quality of the field. At this point I think the MLS playoff matches will be played only after the World Series, and the Yankees won’t allow a configuration change until their season is done. They don’t want the field conditions to change or risk deterioration at all.
I agree. And that's completely understandable and justifiable to me.

And like several other posters have stated, this is a great trial run to see if queens is a good location for our fanbase

Guys, here me out: this really isn't so bad. Citi field is accessible unlike Hartford plus it gives us a chance to show how well the team would do in Queens. A lot of ours fans come from Queens, if the word spreads this match could actually be well attended. It would make a strong case for Willets Point.

thats the take im taking.....i dont even know if we are close at all to anything tangible for this site but hey if its good attendance it cant hurt i guess

It may be too early to ask, but does anyone know if the protective netting will be removed for this game?

The pitch orientation at Citi Field differs from Yankee Stadium, resulting in significantly more seats adjacent to home plate, the first base line and the third base line. Ticket buyers be forewarned.

You haven't seen the seating chart, have you? Not even the second deck available. Expecting another 10k special.

There's no reason why there would be any netting anywhere at all with the baseball season over.

So if you want your money back, you'll automatically be credited with a refund if you elect not to attend this match.

RF - I think the only appropriate response from TR would be...

A MEGA TAILGATE!

That was the first question I had. It's being worked on. It wouldn't be a "mega" tailgate as we already have our Comicon going on on top of regular match day activities. We are definitely looking to do a good one though. Waiting for full details.
