I have a hard time seeing him join in January. That means we only get him for one season and that season is interrupted by Euros. That would feel too much like Lampardgate. I can't imagine that NYC and CFG would be that foolish to do something like that twice after all the backlash from the first one.

I don't think he starts on July 12 but I think we see him play his first game in August.

This would be ideal, imo. It basically leaves him on the same schedule for the rest of the year.

I would love having Jovetic. People say he always scores in friendlies, but I prefer to think he always scores in the U.S.

I'd take him as a "core" dp for sure, and if he tears it up, make him a full DP.

Thanks. Helpful clarification. I am now thoroughly unconvinced. Italian media with a vested interest only in having Pirlo fresh for their own games speculating on an idea that makes absolutely no sense for the team he is signing with. Yeah. Not happening.

He needs a break. But he plays his first game August 1 against MTL at YS in front of the home crowd which also gives him some running time with the team before he plays in the Hudson Derby III on August 9.

Major outlets tend to be reserved when it comes to posting about this kinda stuff. When they do post about it they tend to be right. I'm hoping this is one of those cases.
