Pirlo's contract with Juve ends June 30, 2016. Marotta, Juve's director, has said that they will respect Tevez's wish to leave Juve and will let him go back only to Argentina. For Pirlo he's repeatedly stated that he would like him to stay for the remainder of his contract, and possibly extend it. I think NYCFC needs to deal with Juve on this one, it's not the Giovinco situation where he had 6 months left on the contract and they were not offering him an extension.

The point was that that is the type of player who can make waves in MLS.

The only way MLS can get younger quality players is if they are unproven. Players like zardes & Dwyer. You look at zalelem and green they have a very high ceiling. Lots of potential and better chance to develop playing overseas.
Due to salary cap the MLS is not a league where owners can splash cash for raw talent. They have to focus on aging proven players and names. It makes more sense for them to overpay and put butts in seats

I never in that post said NYCFC can't afford it. I said that MLS doesn't allow it because of the salary cap.

One nitpick, Pirlo tweeted that he didn't have an Instagram like three weeks ago. I don't know who runs the "pirloficial" account, but apparently it isn't him.

That one account has 400+ followers and its following 200+ whereas he other has 5000+ followers and is following 40. I mean they could both be fake but I don't see his son tweeting that out. I'm sure he'd know better than that
He's been rumored to a majority of both European and MLS. I don't think that he wants to come to MLS. He'd much rather be the face of a mid-table European team.
