There are a few things probably. I was saying the rise of football violence in Italy was just one factor.

When football violence was at it's height in the UK, attendances suffered.

One of the biggest factors of the growth of the EPL has been the fact that all stadia in the top division had to be all seated. This helped attract a lot more women and families to games.

The last time I was at the Olympic stadium for a AS Roma game was November 2013 and did not see any violence. I find it interesting that when a few brits get stabbed in the ass we are all supposed to forget that they are the ones who invented this shit. biggest factor in EPL growth was spending money to get the best players.

Looks like he backed out of negotiations and they'll return to the table following his Miami trip.
At the end of the day he is on vacation right now and comes to NYC every year this time. So its not like the sole reason he is here is because of us.

Eh, players don't usually get involved in negotiations. They tell their agents what they want from the deal and what their minimum conditions are and their agents do the haggling. When the agent thinks he's got a deal, or says that the club is being intransigent on something, he comes back to the player to ask for a yes/no or for what else can be offered/backed down on to keep things moving forward. The player tends to hang around, sure, because they have to be there eventually to sign the contract and do the medical, but negotiations can go on whether Pirlo is in NYC, a pool in Miami or on a two-year mission to Mars.

People need to keep two things in mind...

1 - Pirlo doesn't have full custody of his kids, his ex-wife does. They spend time with him, but for the most part they're with their mother. So all this talk about them coming here for school is just that, talk.

2 - NYCFC still has to negotiate something with Juve. Whether they can convince to let him go for free or not, which I HIGHLY doubt, especially since Tevez has officially left for Boca for free and some players. Pirlo is under contract for another year, he simply can't walk away.

Well Giovinco was 6 months from the end of his contract, and Juve wasn't offering him a new contract so he was free to sign anywhere he wanted at that point, Juve let him out of his contract 6 months early and by doing so saved about €1.5 million in salary. Giovinco was also behind, Tevez, Llorente, Morata, and Coman in the pecking order.

As for Tevez, he was already saying he wasn't going to renew his contract when it ran out, then asked if he could leave a year early. Juve said only if he goes to Boca. We still don't know all of the the transfer dealings, but what we do know is that Juve did get a player in return, and options on two other players as well. So while they may not pay a fee, since nothing official has been released yet, we do know they got players in return. NYCFC has no players to offer Juve.

We can leave that in the hands of CFG... It´s not like NYCFC is expected to pay the bills

Sure we can leave it to them, but it still needs to be addressed. A lot of people here seem to act like we're dealing with a free agent, we're not. Things like that can hold up deals.

It´s a deal that have been in progress for months.. I think the clubs might have been the first to agree to anything, like how it might affect the Jovetic pricetag if the Juve rumours are true.

If you looks at the rumors in Italy, Juve aren't really after Jovetic, they're being used as leverage for Milan vs Inter.

Also, I don't know where you've read that the deal has been in progress for months, but Juve management has publicly stated other things. They've said multiple times they wanted to extend him contract another year and didn't want him to go anywhere.

Listen, if he leaves Juve, and I think it's 50/50, the only place I wouldn't mind is NYCFC. That's because he goes from one team I support to another. I just think we're jumping the gun, a little bit.

Even MLSsoccer.com wrote about it the 3rd of June or almost a month ago...
