if we go for another forward, id go for Fred. his contract ends before our season starts. Fred and Villa up top with perhaps an xavi in midfield would be amazing.
I have obviously seen him play quite a lot (for City and elsewhere), and while he still may have something to contribute to the game, I would say we should stay well away.
He has become politically controversial as of late and if the Brovsky signing is any indication I doubt the board want to go down that road.
Talented but his attitude is shitty. Plus he's not exactly Jewish friendly and while that shouldn't be accepted anywhere, here in NYC it's one of the worst things you could be.

Non-DP, sure. I mostly don't appreciate his whoring player agent. China will give him big bucks and a friendly coach. NYCFC has better options.
Just for the record, I´m not rooting for him to sign with the NYCFC, I´m justing bringing something up to debate!
Fred would be amazing, but as a brazilian I guarantee you that he has more market than MLS. Not saying that MLS is below average, but for some players there are still other markets ahead. There are conversations here in Brazil that even Barcelona is interested. If he do a great job in the world cup he´d probably go back to Europe.
Barcelona would be interested but with so much talent stacked on that team I would prefer a move to another team. Fred is worthy of a big contract and probably more then NYCFC should spend for Fred. He is good but he also is surrounded by great players. I would spend wisely.
I think he is a striker from Cameroon who made a ton of money at Chelsea and Russia.
He also put down mls recently in an interview. Basically saying that MLS is still beneath him.

He is a decisive personality, he has slowed down considerably, and I'm not sure his head is in the game any more.

Me and Blue Warrior are talking in a different topic about some players and he rised some good names! Luis Fabiano, striker from São Paulo and Ronaldinho, that actually is playing for Atlético MG here in Brazil. Both are solid names for NYCFC in my opinion.
