Jozy obviously is the home run. Need, skill, prime, and a marketing coup to now add an American familiar to the casual US fans. CR seemed to echo that with his comments this week. As others have suggested, the odds probably are long but can always hope playing here may intrigue him. Cole just doesn't seem to check many boxes.

Agudelo isn't getting a shot in Europe, why not go to NYC become a star in new york learn form David Villa as well as play With him and get back on USMNT.
Exactly, put himself back in the national team picture and if he performs well teams from Europe will come calling and want him on loan. Make a hefty buck here and learn from one of the best, perform well, move to Europe.

Jozy wants to stay in the USMNT, and he knows Klinsmann would be pissed if he came here. He isn't coming back to MLS any time soon.
I understand the logic, but for long term I wish Klinsmann would push more for MLS, especially with more players coming here to help local talent. With someone like Jozy, lets say learning from people like Villa, teaching homegrown talent, you can make up and coming players that much better. In 4-8 years time you can grow a player into something great. Would love the day when rather than sending a player to Premier or La Liga you keep them right here to develop and at the same time grow the league. Also up to teams to make it work. I think we'll get there one day.

You're right with that, in some ways going to Europe has been bad for some US players. Just think of Brek Shea he was good for Houston was it? Got his move to Stoke and is now in a league 1 I think.. It'd be good to see some US players on the verge of Klinsmann squads actually stay, but it seems as if Europe is the be all for many.

Jozy isn't coming. There just is no way he makes the move to the MLS. Maybe after next world cup cycle he should still be in his prime (late 20's) and might want to cash in big at home. The MLS at that point will be a much better league then now anyway. Agudelo has to come back he's out of options in Europe but at what price. He certainly thinks he's the next coming of Christ.

I don't really want Agudelo. Anyone who would sit out a full year at age 21 doesn't seem likely to be the kind of guy who will fight for every inch in the box (twss).

If he's not a DP and doesn't cause clubhouse issues, he would be okay. But he's never played a full year. Henry despised him, leading the NYRB to get rid of him. Listen to Henry talk about younger players, and it's not like he goes around criticizing all of them. He actually seems like quite the teacher/mentor. The fact that Agudelo couldn't get along with him speaks volumes.

I agree. Adudelo hasn't fit in anywhere he's been. He's a dick and I would much rather read articles about him trying to buy real estate in Cyprus then articles about him being an ass hole in our locker room.

Demba Ba isn't a bad shout, doing well at Besiktas here now but he won't get another chance like the one he had at Chelsea and the MLS could look very tempting after a season putting up with the Turkish fans, still a class striker as well.

As he pointed out they're looking for a 9/10 DP. So they want a complimentary striker to David Villa. Look at it as a Sturridge to our Suarez. Someone with Pace that can create goal scoring opportunities but is also more than capable of scoring himself. I can see it being a younger player. I think this take Jozy out of the picture. They want someone that can score goals and no knock on Jozy but he hasn't exactly been doing that. I would go ape shit for J Green He'd be out of position but we saw him in the short time he was on the USMNT be successful.
