NYCFC wants Altidore yes.... Altidore doesn't want MLS though. Klinsmann talks about wanting players in Europe and in the champions league, and Altidore has apparently a lot of interest from Lille who is in the Champions league right now. It would require a lot of Altidore's preferred options to fall apart before he comes to MLS, so its highly highly unlikely he comes here. Diskerud, Bedoya, and Agudelo are our best shots at getting a USMNT player, if Agudelo still counts that is, granted if Agudelo came here and did well in MLS, he would probably get a call-up right away. He has a lot of talent that is going to waste.

I'd love for Jozy to come to MLS and more importantly New York City. However, I just really don't see it happening, especially when his agent has said there has not been any serious discussions with MLS to this date.

Explain yourself, please. It would be awful for NYCFC, probably moreso than any other club in the league. I just explained why. Do you want us to have to get our DPs from the various drafts or some allocation process? You have to be mental to actually believe what you typed.

To be fair, didn't read what you said before I posted.

When I posted that I thought having the top four players not count against the cap would be beneficial to mls because most teams don't go after DP's because of their cap hit.

I really like Bryan Ruiz. I didn't know he was available. That would be an excellent signing. Another CONCACAF player as well. He's making about $3.5 Million a year.

Thing is we have to worry about transfer fees. I don't think NYCFC will go out of its way to pay transfer fee if they don't have too.

Gignac has 11 in 13 this season in Ligue 1, that's a better record than Ibra or Cavani. Only 28 as well. This is exactly the type of signing MLS and NYCFC should be targeting now and in future IMO.

Lampard most certainly is a CAM. Chelsea were insistent on playing Lampard deep in a defensive/box-to-box midfield role. With his legs going, Chelsea had started to lose faith in his ability. At MCFC, he's been play further forward, in a no.10 role. His job isn't to run the game but take control in the final third, which is why he is in such great form at the moment.

I disagree with you. But let's say you are right...how about this:

And in that scenario he does play the box to box role that you think he can still play.

Personally, let's let him play the CAM - let him slot in behind the striker and not have to run all over the entire pitch.
