Well we really only have 3 options to use it on in Bedoya, Diskerud, and Altidore. When is Bedoya's contract with Nantes over?

Summer of 2016. But both sides have stated that if they don't have a solution soon, they will let him leave early.

But nothing has been said about letting him leave in the January window. It would be a summer move.

So in all likelihood we are targeting one of Mix and Jozy with our spot.

I would add Bedoya to that list
I don't think we'd pass on Diskerud/Jozy to maybe have a chance at signing Bedoya. Diskerud/Jozy will probably have new clubs come January, and Bedoya would probably be in the summer. If we miss on those two, and we probably have a 95% chance of missing on Jozy then yea I see us going after Bedoya hard.

I don't see us signing a fourth DP right away if that's what the new rule is. Probably will wait until next summer to see what is available.

I say Mix as well, I don't think Jozy really wants to come to MLS yet. Plus we'd have to pay a pretty hefty transfer fee for him.

This is totally random, but if we are looking for a young USMNT player we should talk to Bayern about taking Julian Green on loan. He's getting no time at Hamburg as it is, and Bayern is too stacked right now. He's too good to be playing reserves, so I wonder if he'd consider a loan to MLS.

USMNT member that might be available is Sacha Kljestan... even though LA wanted him earlier in the year he would not be my choice.

I like Bedoya a lot though and he is a realistic possibility. Mix has already spurned MLS twice and Jozy needs to stay in Europe.

Regardless, I think that Patrick Mullins is going to be a USMNT member... I wouldn't be shocked if he gets a January call up to Camp Cupcake.

No thanks to Jozy, I don't see him producing enough offensively to justify the salary we would have to pay him. Bedoya probably fits the squad better than Mix because he can play on the flank, but Mix could be a more long term investment. Neither one would be a bad move, though.

They're not DP worthy, but Jake Keegan, Pat McCann and Daniel Stevens are all local guys we could look into.

I hate to frank, but you can cross Jozy off your list. He is off to Lille or the Bundesliga. Wermer offered 7 Million for him - we would be crazy to even approach that number.

I'm not sold that Mix Diskerud wants to be here. What if we were able to use our allocation spot to negotiate with Mix and trade him to Seattle for Jordan Morris? Would you sign up for that?

Regarding Bedoya...I think he is easily the most talented of the three right now. His work rate would be perfect for MLS. I don't think he is great at anything, but I do believe he could play in any league in the world - much like Clint Dempsey when he first entered Europe. He's not a star, but he is the best US player abroad right now. The money that would have to be involved to bring him back wage wise would rival Tim Cahill. Would have to be $2-3 Million in wages.

Ultimately, Bedoya is the best fit for this team, for Kreis and for us. It would just involve a transfer fee - TrnsfrMrkt estimates it would be somewhere in the $2.5 Million range.
