Not sure if this is the place to post this but I just called my rep and asked wtf happened to Blitzkreig Bop for goal celebrations and what can we do to get it back? He said I'm not the first to call about that. I think this needs to be a priority, especially going into the new stadium. It was one of the highlights of the match experience IMO. Can we get TR on this? I'm willing to volunteer my time/energy!
I completely agree with you. I don't understand the change, which I think goes back to last season, at least. So shortsighted.
I was still screaming "Hey Ho, Let's Go" after the goals on Sunday, regardless.
Agree, loved Blitzkrieg Bop goal celebration. What do they play now?
Not sure what it is exactly but it's just some very quite bass line with some drums over it. not sure what song it actually is, but it's not nearly as hype as Blitzkrieg Bop was.
It could be something as simple as the team might have to pay a fee to whoever owns the rights to Blitzkrieg Bop.
I know for a fact this is a situation AM radio programs have to deal with when it comes to "Bumper Music".
I couldn't even guess as to what these fees might be, but perhaps the club thinks it's just too much of a nuisance to have to deal with, so they went in another direction.

I’m a late stage post-1960 Boomer who despised my assigned generation before doing so was cool and mentally identifies as Gen X.
Lately I’ve noticed the slur usage of boomer has expanded to mean almost anything including: 1) cranky reactionary, 2) lockstep lefty, 3) anyone older than 45, 4) anyone at least 10 years older than the speaker, or 5) anyone you want to accuse of mental or verbal slop.
When I see the term used to mean one of these or basically “people and things I don’t like” I’m inclined to think less of the speaker. The boomer jerks I have despised my entire life are a very specific group of people. We already have to many empty pejoratives. We don’t need more.
Save "boomer" for the stupid actual boomers.
