I had a few on snapchat, but the only snapchat video I saved was the Pirlo free kick goal.
I am sure that there was a lot of shifting due to the sun which may have affected how and where the stadium seemed to have empty pockets. I can tell you that we sat in our first row seats for about 30 seconds before moving higher (mostly due to a hot kid and very preggers wife).

not a huge fan of chanting that involves mostly oooohs, ahhhhs, and whooooaaas. Not very creative other then adding "come on new york". Don't get me wrong its a catchy tune, but i would be made of the lyrics were something like:
"Come on New York"
"score another gooooaaaaaal"
"score another gooooaallllllll"
something like that. obviously that makes no sense after the game to chant in the streets, but then people smarter then I could figure out the post game version.
The Batters Eye -- usually sparsely attended -- was especially empty on Saturday and doubly so in the second half. Very tough sun. Almost the only people there were from the forum or connected to someone forum.
And the supporters really did carry on strong at the end of the game. It was also the first time we heard the chicken bucket chant there.
Keep thinking about Hernandez quote that he knew he would get the second yellow, but took one for the team. I am so friggin mad about that comment for a million reasons. We were up 3-1 at the time. Even if you could guarantee that the guy would score without your shirt pull (a bullshit maneuver that he's been doing all year, since he gets beat so often), that is 3-2 with 10 minutes to go, wouldn't you rather have 11 guys to try to defend that lead? Its such a bullshit comment from a guy who has been out of position and beaten so frequently, I don't know how he started. My takeaway from watching the Cosmos game was that Mena can actually dribble and cover one on one, and I don;t know how he isnt starting. I really hope we gop with mena and not ethan white in seattle.
With you on this one for sure even though I think Mena is a bit rough on the ball.
Sadly, for both of us, odds that it happens are likely approaching zero. Too bad - he would actually be a good 1on1 matchup for Jordan Morris.
Glad you agree! I posted this after the game and it received a mixed reaction. The comment is just terribly narcissistic, selfish and tries to spin that he was tactically wrong.
A little rough, but he'd give us two CBs that can each win a header (oh how novel!) and both can defend 1v1 without fouling (is that actually important?!?). I don't think White has the speed or the hips to keep up with Morris - hopefully he proves me wrong.
I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but some time later in the second half, Villa had the ball just past the midfield line and Pirlo was steaming (by Pirlo standards) down the right side on an attempted counter-attack. Villa didn't play the ball cross field to him and there was a moment after play broke up when the two were throwing their hands up in the air across the field at each other.
Not sure if it was visible on TV and it was hardly a big deal, but I love moments like that and found something about the two of them briefly remonstrating at each other to be highly amusing.

Saw that, and Pirlo would have been in on a breakaway (the irony of that!). He probably felt that if that was one of the few times he'd go full tilt, he should be rewarded.

Yeah, I really liked that. Pirlo was "flying" down the right sideline and Villa had to take an extra touch so Pirlo stopped as he didn't get the pass he wanted. But then once Villa had the ball where he needed it he passed it to where Pirlo would have been if he'd kept on running. Hence all the arm waving.

TabascoDiva and I were going crazy trying to remember the song. I had her on the phone last night while blasting the end of the game on the TV trying to catch it. We both were at the game and were mezmerized by the singing of this song and joined in. I have been to every home game and I haven't felt that kind of unified electricity in the air since Pirlo took the pitch for the first time way back in July.
I'm just glad another CB will get a chance while he's out

CatNYC : I agree, was electrified by the chanting that I joined it, and that is the is the kind of energy the team needs at every home game. We got to give them a reason to believe and know we are there for them.After the own goal I, was groaning that the 3 points were melting away, could feel that the team, got it and was energized with our chanting . They held to keep the win.

So many positives from last Saturday's match. Arguably our best 11 and beautiful passing and possession. Even some defensive subs at the end. And yet still we were sweating like crazy for the last 15 min and not just from the sun. We need to cut that nervous shite out.
I actually don't think that's it. I think it's the la-la-la melody from Crocodile Rock at 1:05 sung in oooh's instead:
yeah i think that's probably elton borrowing from the past. the la-la-la part is way to fast compared to the chant, but then on the other hand the chant also sounds faster then the doo wop song. I think its in the middle but leaning to the doo wop.
and for the record i thought the dress was blue and black.
