Hmmm wonder if it has anything to do with the fact Chicago was talentless when he was there.
He was atrocious with his feet when he arrived and he worked really hard to get where he’s at - NYCFC was willing to work with him as a project considering the ineptitude of who he was replacing. Probably also wasn’t very motivating being on a horror show of a club that would waste any valiant effort he would put forth.
