I was just thinking the same thing they obviously got together to collaborate this, whats to say they aren't talking about a stadium already?
Well the mayor is going to submit a budget plan for the city soon maybe a stadium can fall under somewhere??

First they have to demolish the LA Sports Arena, currently right next to it. But supposedly it will all happen before a 2018 expansion.

More details in the LA Times article that leaked the story ahead of tomorrow's announcement: http://www.latimes.com/sports/soccer/la-sp-la-soccer-stadium-20150518-story.html
And we still don't even have the slightest clue where we'll have our stadium.

Not endorsing their approach, but it is a contrast to CFG's:

The L.A. team said at its introductory news conference in October that it would explore stadium sites throughout Southern California, but the Sports Arena location was the only one it seriously considered. MLS has long favored the area because of its proximity to downtown and public transportation.

Although the franchise has always referred to itself as the Los Angeles Football Club, team President Tom Penn said fans will ultimately choose the team's name.

"It became clear we had to make this decision first," he said. "Because then every other decision became easier."

It's funny to look at these stadiums and still hear the "Soccer will never catch on in America" voices of the past and it has to make you laugh. That said, $250 million for this space, where they can share parking with the Coliseum, probably is most relatable to us setting up shop by Yankee Stadium. Wonder what the price tag would be for ours in New York.

If you check LAFC's twitter feed they're already posted a design of the stadium. It's right next to the Coliseum by USC. 22,000 seats.
Sweet looking stadium as well. Hopefully nycfc can do something as impressive.

750

It's pretty much the failed Farmers Field. Designed by the same people who designed farmer's field I would be surprised if the bought it and changed parts of it to make it soccer specific

There's several threads to talk about LAFC. This isn't one of them.

However some NYCFC stadium news would at least divert attention to on the field problems at the moment.

I keep saying just build it on top of where old Yankee Stadium was. There really is no need for those baseball fields. There are already so many here in the Bronx.

As BxLio91 said, and this has been pointed out somewhere earlier in the 111 pages of this thread, parkland was swapped for parkland so that the new Yankee Stadium could be built.

The city gave the Yankees more than 20 acres of prime parkland on which to build the team’s $1.3 billion new home. As part of the deal, the city built eight new parks and redeveloped several city-owned parking lots to make up for the lost parkland.
(Contaminated parkland it turns out)
