Almost no way we get that blocked. Key words are low to mid-income housing. Which I'm sure is patently false because you can bet that any rentals there would be in the 2500+ range.

Oh if only.......

Interesting read on what happened to each of the site plans. Take a look.
I mean this isn't shocking, bottom line is this, it is tough to build a stadium in NYC. Simple as that. The Yankees found that out and they are the freaking Yankees. If I was CFG and the owners of NYCFC I would not ask for any tax breaks or anything that will cost the public money. That is the only way I see this thing getting done. Fork over the funds privately and build the stadium. Thats it!

Ugh. Seems like a well-researched piece, and if correct, ain't nothing good happening anytime soon.

Yup. We'll be in Yankee Stadium for a while. CFG really just needs to shell out all the money for the stadium and not ask for any tax breaks, and make it beneficial to the community.

Saw this today and thought it was interesting. According to the New York City Economic Development Corporation each home baseball playoff game generates $11.6M in economic impact. So even if we cut that in half (45,000 people at Citi Field vs. a normal match for us) that's still maybe $5M per. I haven't done any research on this so maybe it's less but still that's a lot of hot dogs, souvenirs, jobs, neighborhood restaurant traffic, etc.

That's a good bit of tangible benefit for a stadium. And I understand those people would also show up at Yankee Stadium too. Any economics majors on the forums who can comment?

"We'll be in Yankee Stadium for a while."
Best case scenario at this point. I'm sure they don't want us there even for next season.

Better question. Where do we play when the Yankees had enough?
