Stadium Discussion

So throwing some shit at the wall and seeing if it sticks.

We have no stadium news but always good to have something to talk about.

Populous opened an office in NYC as we all know and they're led by Jonahan Mallie who made a Twitter account and followed NYCFC right away.
Checked it to see if anything interesting has been retweeted recently and came up with a couple.

Also they worked on Minnesota and Orlando stadiums. Could be that MLS even contracted them to work on all MLS projects.

They're actually the leaders in sports architecture (Formerly HOK Sport), so it's not surprising for them to have so many projects. MLS may have contracted them league-wide, but more likely investor groups go where the experience is congragated.

I'm just going to say it, although it must have been said before somewhere in this monstrous thread. We will be playing at YS for at least 10 years so 8 more. Strap in, find seats you like, your favorite overpriced food, beer and swag. We ain't going nowhere.

I'm not sure it's going to be that long, but we're at Yankee Stadium for awhile. And you know what? That's OK -- we could do a hell of a lot worse than Yankee Stadium.

You write this as if the food, beer and swag at a new stadium would not be as equally overpriced...

Has anyone heard any updates to 320 West Fordham Road?

I had posted a while back.I dont see anything that has happened,is it still up for sale?

Maybe make that metronorth stop larger and add shuttle train from grand central. The 1 train at 207th street is close, and A train 5-10 min walk.

Not sure if stadium would fit, but as mentioned on this thread various times, maybe part of it on river.

You sort of do have views of the manhattan skyline (midtown)

That location is about 4 acres, didn't the club say they needed 10?
