And I think that guy is an f.Cosmos fan. He only shows up to shit on anything anyone is happy about.
Lol @ cosmos fan. Is it because I am realistic about the stadium situation in the metropolitan area? It's not going to happen, it's la la land in this thread. Speaking of Cosmos, they can't even get a tiny stadium at Belmont approved.

Don't shoot the messenger. Commercial developers in this city, and specifically in Queens, have a lot more power than any politician or mls team.

Guys... the stadium thread...
giphy.gif

It took DC United about 20 years to get a stadium, this thread could be going for a long time.............

Exactly, his last post prior to yesterday's was back in October completely shitting on any chance of a stadium in NYC. Just as that fog guy is to random jersey posts, NYC Soccer Kid is to shitting on NYC SSS.

I'm interested in the stadium discussion. News came out, so I chimed in. It is a message board after all. You want to suppress my thoughts/comments because they're contrary to yours and the la la land agenda on here? Go ahead. You can live in fantasy world here pushing this nonsense and agenda that there will be a brand new soccer arena built in NYC. Notice the radio silence from the club, if there were any plans whatsoever, there would be a nugget thrown to the fans. However, if they came out and flat out said there's no plans, that would turn a number of fans off and just cause problems. It's all about the cash for this group.

PS - I attend most matches, would love to discuss this over a beer before the one on the 17th.

Nope, definitely don't want to suppress your thoughts in general, don't think thoughts should be suppressed at all. Just pointing out to the general public that the only thing you've really cared enough to post about was to shit on NYCFC stadium plans. So when you post for the first time in 8 months, to consider the context.

There are plenty of reasons why nuggets of info wouldn't be thrown out, and those reasons have been well discussed previously within this thread. Every bit of news that has come out in regards to the stadium search (as little as it may be), as well as documents that some users have dug up here that were not involved in press releases indicate that the team is absolutely committed to a stadium in the 5 boroughs, as difficult and frustrating as doing that may be.

Won't be able to meet for a pre-game beer on the 17th, but perhaps a later match.

To put a finer point on it, it appears your interest in this thread is solely limited to saying that we are idiots for believing it's possible. While nobody is suppressing your comments, why would anyone here want to continue the conversation with you about this topic? Have a beer to talk it over? Why- so you can remind me I live in la-la land and have a pipe dream for a stadium? I'd rather not spend my time with someone whose interest is limited to dumping on other members.

I'll just add that I only said that the outcome of this court case means that CFG has a new opportunity to get involved in the discussion for that site - not that it automatically means that the site is ours.

Also worth adding that while Sterling and the city still want that parking lot developed one way or another, they certainly have incentive to reconsider whether the mall is actually the best use for that site anyway. Additionally, the state isn't just going to roll over and hand them the site - they're going to want something to show for it too. Bringing in a group who's already made a commitment to tidying up city parks and playgrounds could be a big help.
