“The next station is, Mets, NYCFC, Willets Point. Connection is available to the AirTrain to LaGuardia”. Hmm, work in progress.

"The next station is Mets-Willet Points-Etihad Stadium. Connection is available to the AirTrain to LaGuardia."

You know Etihad, UAE will pay the MTA about $5M or something just to include the name in the announcement.

Welcome to the Twin Cities Willets Point Terminal.

I can only tell you what I've heard and I'll say it's not from a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy.

Someone asked this person why NYCFC isn't considering going big and building a 40k seat stadium. That person replied that it'll probably be closer to 30k than 40k, but will be built with the ability to expand if the demand is there in the future.

Now that could be 26k or 28k. I'm not saying it's exactly 30k and I'm sure plans can change.

Wasn't disagreeing. Just saying it's interesting that they are changing their plans. I wonder why? Could it be location related?

But to Jon Jon point, it may not be a change of plans. He said that response was to a question about why isn't NYCFC going big. The answer it will be closer to 30k than 40k could still mean its at 25k

Unless he is

MODS check the IP now plz
OMG the name lines up

Regarding the stadium potentially being 26-30k, I'm hoping it'll be modeled as the seating being tight against the pitch as opposed to, for example, West Ham's. The closeness would add so much spirit and life..!

Part of the reason they said they want to keep the stadiums smaller is for season ticket holders. Biggest complaint they get is that there isn't a secondary market to sell into. You'll see changes with which sections are available at Yankee stadium this year and that thinking will carry over into a stadium we call home one day

as long as they keep the prices reasonable.... but if they go smaller while jacking up the prices, then it's kinda moot

West Ham's stadium isn't a SSS -- it was built for the Olympics so the need for a full track pushed the stands away from the center, where the pitch now lies.

Intern: Sir, you’re in today’s forum report.
Patricof: What? Are they demanding that I announce something regarding Willets Point? Or include something cool like an Amazon Echo Dot for every fan in the season ticket box?
Intern: No, they think you’re a user?
Patricof: A user?
Intern: And that you post.
Patricof: That’s ridiculous I’ve got more important stuff to do for this club than to post on the forums. I’ve got a stadium to build. (Shouts outside his office) Hey Stemp, how’s the stadium coming along?
Stemp: Sorry, I’m on a call with Melbourne.
Patricof: What?
Stemp: Yeah. And then Abu Dhabi.
Patricof: You’re supposed to be getting us a stadium in New York.
Intern: But he’s also in charge of infrastructure of all CFG.
Patricof: The rest of CFG has infrastructure.
Intern: All threads lead to the stadium thread.
Stemp: What about a stadium?
Intern: Nothing.
Patricof: I’m not on the forums.
...
(Everyone leaves Patricof’s office)
Patricof thinking to himself: Ugh, that new user with all the photos is making it really hard to scroll on mobile.
