Do you mean when the 9/11 Memorial first opened?

Because I don’t see at all how they could limit attendance now but I do remember several years ago when you had to get a ticket and go through security.
I have no idea what the policy is now. When I went, I needed a ticket.

Yeah, now it’s really open so you can walk up to it from many different streets. Basically similar to a public park.

The museum though, you need a ticket to, and that does cost money I believe.

ETA: The museum is fantastically well done and I would highly recommend it. But make sure you budget a fair amount of time for it.

That’s my bad - I group the museum into the memorial as a total experience because why go for one and not the other.

I’m with you, except for when I’ve hosted people who haven’t been to nyc yet and have limited time. Then the museum may or may not be an option but the memorial can be visited fairly quickly.

A quick map check indicates that there is no intersection of Willis Ave. and 153rd St. Willis Ave starts near the Harlem River Yards site, where it runs north to 149th Street and turns into Melrose Ave. 153rd St. starts right in the middle of the proposed GAL site and runs west, with some breaks, to a little ways past Melrose.

So, the entry doesn't make a lot of sense.

Look, I have good reason to believe the Club is telling the truth that they are close to announcing something at the GAL site. I think they want to do it this year and then have a year for permitting and 2-3 years for construction.

153rd and Willis don't intersect.... Is it a typo?
Maybe they means 143rd? That could make a little more sense and if you take the square of 143rd/willis/141st/alexander, I think a stadium would be fittable, using my "put my pointer finger over yankee stadium and move it to this block" test. Have we all been duped on the location?

Well it's hard to say anything concrete about stadium plans yet but I hereby nominate "Merp" as our new board shorthand for something approximating "hey, look at this," and when the stadium is finally announced I'm fully expecting to hear a spontaneous chorus of merps break out across all appropriate threads.
