There is a camera in that area, but I don't think it blocks any seats. I've sat right behind TV cameras in the 200 level before and you can still see over them.

I upgraded to 229, row 3, on the end of the row closer to 230. You think I should be okay? We're bringing friends and I would hate to have an obstructed view.

I sat in 229 in 2015, though several rows back. It would not have affected me directly, but I don't remember there being any issues with the camera there (eg, I don't remember the people in the front row needing to stand a lot to see over it). I also have a camera just to the left of my current first row seats several sections over and it has no effect on me there.

Not a chance you'd have a problem in row 3. Maybe the slightest of issues in row 1, but you'd be completely clear of it in row 3 if there is even one there. I don't know the exact section it's in, but you'll be fine in row 3.

Why should he be fighting for a pizzeria that's not paying its state taxes? Just think if he's gonna support any cause, it should be for a stadium that will create jobs and bring something to the city, not a pizzeria. But clearly, his love of pizza is greater than his love for soccer. i wonder if he even knows what NYCFC is..
Other than temp jobs to build the stadium (and there's no shortage of construction jobs right now), what INCREMENTAL revenue will this bring to the city that it's not already getting.

I could see if the team wasn't already playing in NYC, but....

Guy in front of me had his tickets raised back to the 2017 level. Guy in front of me and one seat over had his tickets stay the same. My tickets went up 9%.

No idea what the fuck is happening here.
Wait a second -- they're dynamically pricing renewals within a section? That's insane and would make me immediately demand lowest price or cancellation.

yes, temp jobs to build the stadium. stadium staff to maintain and clean, ushers, security. Maybe my ignorance on how stadiums are staffed comes into play, but I would assume our stadium would have its own staff and not shared with yankee stadium staff.

Plus, I believe I read somewhere that it is law in NYC to build affordable housing with every development project. So there's the addition of that.

Extra revenue could come in the form of having an actual soccer specific stadium in NYC.. international games, exhibition games, etc being hosted there to make money for the club and the city through tourists and people visiting the city. tax revenue for the building itself. lots of ways a new, successful stadium can make money for a city.

Apparently.

The guys I sit around and I all have a good relationship. So I just straight up asked them their thoughts on the ticket prices going up. We all had different answers on what happened to our costs.

Anyone here know anything about commercial real estate building permits? Rumor last night was that we have one.
One cannot obtain a building permit without either owning or leasing the space. If the team has a permit, then they have the space.

If this is indeed the case, WTF would they not have announced it??? That makes zero sense to be holding out on the news, because it’s not as if they’re negotiating a sale any longer, it’d be done.

I'm in this pic haha
as well as the fellow Dundee United supporter that I met!

The more I look at this photo the more I see in it. You've got the person in the vest posing, but with his back to the camera, about 30 or so people oblivious to the camera and intent upon the game, as you would expect, then 2 people inexplicably focused on the camera. First, we have the guy 2 feet away who seems to want to ask, "Excuse me, do you need a photo bomb?" Then there's the guy halfway up and slightly to the left looking right at the camera and giving a thumbs up like the photo is about him. I love this photo.

Nashville releasd their stadium renderings today. I know nothing of nashville soccer culture, but they seem to be pretty ambitious building a 30K stadium...

@chupato - nope. "it's coming"
