.... and what else is near astoria..... the soon to be decommissioned rikers island.............
Considering the amount of ire being generated by BdB’s plan to disperse Rikers inmates to the new remote Borough locations, if the Stadium was then announced for Rikers, it’d fuel the biggest pitchfork brigade of NIMBY ever.

I'd counter-protest and say, "NIMBY doesn't care about your front yard!"

Someone who was interviewed for this article mentioned last night that it could come out as soon as today or next week.

Expect a WSJ article on the stadium/real estate situation to come out in the next few weeks.

wait wait... is this another article talking about the frustrations of finding a stadium location as we've been reading for years now? or is this an article talking about a specific location that is to be released after an official announcement? :O

I'm really not completely sure on the overall direction of the article.

All I know, is that a particular person was interviewed by the WSJ about some particular real estate and they said the article could come out as early as today or next week.

I don't know if this interview is just a small supporting piece of the article or supports the main theme.

Interesting. Is this along the lines of today's Guardian or Athletic articles, about having to play in Citi Field and what the fans think about that? or is it something more?

It is definitely at least in part about the fan POV and the playoff game stadium switch. I'm pretty sure it is also about more than that because the reporter is a RE reporter, not sports or lifestyle, but cannot be certain. I also doubt it will break news on that front because I don't think she would need the playoff game hook to run the story if there was actual news.

so what you suspect is that there's really not much to get excited about... :/

It's potentially exciting for members of my personal fan club.
And the Garbow-iacs rejoice!

I do know that there is at least one non-fan that was interviewed for this piece as well. Unless that happens to be a separate article in the WSJ.
