Any team that puts New York on their Shirt has invested their brand ID in not being from Jersey, no matter where they play. But my larger point is that within 30 seconds I was able to come up with three more consequential branding crises than a single match played in NJ.None of those teams invested their entire brand identity into being the team not from NJ.
