Personally I would love it because it would be so close to my house.

I'm not opposed to it either. I would be driving in and I always love a good tailgate. But if we're back to the drawing board, this could be another decade of juggling between YS/CF/RBA.

On top of that, with the Yankees owning a part of the club, are they going to want to do any deal with the Mets??

Maybe we're back to Willets Point? I guess we need SoupInNYC SoupInNYC to start attending Queens Community Board 7 meetings.

It's probably BS from Sims. If you have your hands in multiple baskets, do you really have anything at all? This is a giant case of the Yankees screwing us and NYCFC caught flat-footed with no back up plan.
Lmao. I'm sorry guys, but I'm probably going to be limiting my stadium stuff to this site in the Bronx. Not sure I have it in me to start from scratch in Queens with a new site.

I have been checking in with EDC on a recurring basis and they do keep telling me that there is nothing new going on. During last month's CB4 Housing & Land Use meeting, they mentioned the project, but only in the manner that was about it being on pause and maybe it will come back. No real news or anything there. I still get the impression that they really want this to happen.

I'm still not saying its dead in the Bronx. But do agree that it isn't currently active. And at the same time, if it does "become active", it should move fairly quick because so many other items have already been taken care of or at least effectively agreed upon.

At this point I'm more #yankeesout than #cfgout

He says 'I know it's been written as it's dead. You know we're not gonna completely write something off, but there's nothing active right now."
Then he says they're focused on a site in Queens. What site in queens could they be talking about?

While he says they're "very enthusiastic" about this site in Queens, I'll take it with a grain of salt. A nice, big, fat, grain of salt.

Though he did say that now instead of all eggs in one basket (Bronx), they have it split into two baskets, and hopefully they have a chance of getting one of the two of them done. So the site is still active then???? Contradictory statements, seems to me. Or maybe "nothing active" doesn't mean "we are doing nothing" ??

i feel the queens thing is a "negotiation tactic" to get something for the bronx? I know a few hundred pages back an article said nycfc was looking at a spot in jamaica in some old factory area but that was it. I think it was next to york college......hmmmm now im curious if that delay in queensborough is related to this news.

This is maybe his way of trying to put pressure on the Bronx location, since that's the one they really want? I'm not sure it's possible to put pressure on the Yankees, but presumably the Yankees would like to have the team be in their backyard, and if there is a legit chance the team strikes a deal near the Mets' stadium, it would be embarrassing to the Yankees and that might bring them back to the table?

Oooooh, conspiracy theory time LOL! How about if the delay in QFC until 2023 is so there's time enough to build a joint NYCFC/QFC stadium that seats 25,000 in Jamaica? I endorse this plan completely!

The reason the stadium deal has not been completed is because of the Yankees. Full stop. NYCFC has literally done everything they could. They had a deal, the Yankees backed out. That seems painfully obvious based on the reporting we've read.

the only mistake was partnering with the yankees for this.

IF they go the queens route i assume yankees will kick them out from YS right away.

Take this for what you will but Sims says that the attendance expectations at Yankee Stadium for this season have met or exceeded their expectations for 2021, because going into this year they weren't sure what to expect for attendance. He also makes some excuses for the DCU/Chicago games because they were moved back from RBA. He says that the outlook for Philly game attendance is gonna be close to the levels of the Red Bull game.

He also says that the RBA games have been 3,500 - 5,000. What?!

I want to see some Randy Levine Out, Yankees Out banners on Sunday. F*ck the Yankees chants. I can't think of a single benefit the Yankees have provided to NYCFC or developing the club.
Except for, of course, the stadium to play in.

But seriously this is absolutely on the Yankees. Get those banners. Decision day is the perfect day for a banner like that! I don't care how you get it in there, get it in there.
