Star Wars Night is back!

Well folks I will try to temper my expectations ... But for the intern who's reading this please pass on ...
Play music from Star Wars in the stadium. Surprisingly it is pretty iconic and emotes a certain vibe to those even with only passing familiarity. For example the Star Wars theme is grandpise and epic ... Would make a great entrance song for our team. The good guys. There is actually a scene in the films where the bad guys walk in. Use that when introducing the other team.
You know those video boards you have that you do virtually nothing with. You know they show the game but hardly ever replays and then scroll through the names of the boroughs as if I'm not from here. How about something related to Star Wars on them. Maybe edit some clips and use them. There are some good quotes from the movies. "I'm not afraid" ... "You will be" comes to mind but there are Many many more. Possibly take pictures of team members dressed as iconic characters. Porto as Han, David villa the kid (el guaje) as like, fat frank as Jabba, Hernandez as a storm trooper, Saunders as a character that dies, and so on. Use these on your video board. Or maybe have a little self deprecating fun and instead of each borough do a planet from the films. Dagobah for Staten Island, coruscant for manhattan etc.
have your staff dress up.
Have the cops and fireman dressed as storm troopers
Let fans come in dressed up and tell us we can early.
Give out little lightsaber things to illuminate the supporters section or "thunderstorms" that look like lightsabers.

Also can I recommend googling Star Wars night hockey, or baseball, or any sport and steal ideas that have been done to great success elsewhere.

Looking forward to Star Wars night.

Also great that we are playing Chicago since their pizza is shit and it reminds me of pizza the hut from space balls.
Great post, except for that last part about the pizza. Chicago pizza f'in rocks. (I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, haha)

the scarf will probably be there to use your points on. at least last years shirt was there at end of season ( or was it beginning of this season?) and i used my points on it

Ah, so you're admitting you know nothing about pizza. Got it.

#ohItsOnNowBuddy #nypizza #nypizzafc
Oh, its definitely on. NY pizza rocks, but Chicago pizza is better. The one thing I hate having to explain to people, is that there is more to Chicago-style pizza than the deep dish (which is fantastic). The Chicago-style thin crust is phenomenal.

But, end of the day, pizza rocks. #AllPizzaMatters

I was also about to get mad, but I can't say I've had Chicago thin crust. Only had the deep dish when I went for this season's opener. I'm still questioning the "Chicago pizza is better" but I won't go full pizza rage until I've at least tried Chicago thin crust.

WTF! I will not stand for this kind of reasonable attitude!!!

Wanting to try something before forming an opinion. What the hell is this forum coming to?!?!

Haha, ultimately it just comes down to preference. I prefer Chicago-style, but also love NY style too...because again....pizza.

I really only have faux outrage when it comes to people trashing Chicago-style pizza, haha.

And yeah, definitely check it out. It doesn't get all the hype as the deep dish because the deep dish is considerably different. But go to Giordano's and get a thin crust. Places like Gino's East and Lou Malnati's dont really have the thin crust.

Is this over already? I don't see where to enter the code to get the scarf.

edit: nevermind, I googled it and found this link which seems to work http://www.nycfc.com/starwars
That's interesting. So basically you could buy a scarf for $37 and toss the ticket. And considering regular scarves go for $40 at the stadium that's pretty reasonable.

Yeah - I bought it for the scarf and now trying to find someone to take the ticket!

And mine was only $35......

So should we pad our "guess the attendance" numbers to account for swaths of season ticket holders buying seats they won't sit in just to get scarves?

43,736

I will buy everyone a mug of ale if they panic and open the 300's.

Just bought a ticket. And I had $33 credit on my account from selling an extra in the past, so my new Star Wars scarf was only $2. Score!
Just did the same, surprised I forgot about the $20 credit I had, only cost 60 for two tickets and scarves... my only question, when/where do we get the scarves?? Do we pick them up from one of those front desks/tents they have inside the stadium??

There is no such thing as Chicago Pizza. There is, however, Chicaco crusted lasagna or Chicago tomato soup with cheese in a bread bowl or Chicago pizza-like casserole.

And some of it ain't bad -- it's just not pizza.

I emailed them to ask and they told me we pick them up at the "sales table" in "the Great Hall". So, that tent thing inside, between gates 2 and 4.

List the starting eleven with a scrolling Star Wars text!!

Anything will be better than last year's effort:

"Hey guys, it's Star Wars night!"
[Scene ends.]

Or, they're all dressed in costume with lightsabers.
