I’m not sure how it can be considered gimmicky????

Gimmicky would be repackaging an unchanged product to induce more sales. JW’s GoT edition is a completely new blend of scotch - a new product brought to market. Same with the Single-malt GoT bottles.

As to taste - it’s incredibly smooth with no peat but some pepper on your lips/front of mouth, not at the back of the tongue like how some other brands burn. It’s meant to be drank neat and chilled. You’ll get different & intended flavors as it warms.

appreciate the review. Still think its gimmicky. Your definition of gimmick is not really what a gimmick is. But also nobody said that its 100 percent a Gimmick however it is GimmickY... that Y actually makes a big difference. Using a TV show that is completely unrelated to whiskey by any means is quite frankly gimmicky. It can be the best whiskey ive ever had in my life but it doesnt change the fact that its still a completely unrelated way of trying to increase sales. Also, having some sort of a gimmick isnt necessarily a bad thing. You as well as some others seem to like it.

It's about sales. Glowing blue stuff on the bottle, one liner stylistic decisions about flavor profiles and a single, inconsistent pun are just distractions. That's what makes it a gimmick to me. That's just my opinion though.

You’re confusing a gimmick/gimmicky with marketing.

All products brought to market are about sales.

The rest, you’re skimming the surface from the hip. Not quite sure how you see it as an inconsistent pun - it’s a pretty comprehensive roll-out across multiple brands and distilleries.

It's cool.

Garrison Brothers Single Barrel Bourbon

A good example of a non-Kentucky bourbon (Texas) that is delicious. I tried it fir the first time at SoHo Cigar Bar. I don’t buy it by the bottle back home because it’s like double the price of Elijah Craig and Four Roses Small Batch.
