America (sung to God Save the Queen)
or
Lorde – Royals
I've never seen a diamond in the flesh
I cut my teeth on wedding rings in the movies
And I'm not proud of my address, in the torn up town
(Manchester City!)

But every song's like gold teeth, Grey Goose, trippin' in the bathroom
Blood stains, ball gowns, trashin' the hotel room
We don't care, we're driving Cadillacs in our (streets).
But everybody's like Cristal, Maybach, diamonds on your timepiece.
Jet planes, islands, tigers on a gold leash
We don't care, we aren't caught up in your love affair

And we'll never be royals
It don't run in our blood
That kind of lux just ain't for us
We crave a different kind of buzz
Let me be your ruler, you can call me (NYC)
And baby (we'll rule (we'll rule we'll rule we'll rule)
Let me live that fantasy

My friends and I we've cracked the code
We count our dollars on the train to the party
And everyone who knows us knows that we're fine with this
We didn't come from money

Why would we chant Royals? That song is very sarcastic and not actually about ruling anything. Plus, We have one of (if not the) richest ownership groups in MLS. We quite literally did come from money ($100 million or so).

How about Orange Crush by REM? It's a great anthem song to be sung by a group, plays on the color Orange (our real color), and even has a line about our conscience overseas.

Check it out:

I think this could work with new lyrics.

We would need a band though...

I have season tickets this season. I came up with two chants for the supports. Up to you guys if you want to use them.

" The City chant"

"City, City, City, City!!!!
Let's GOOOOOO!!!!!

City ,City, City , City!!!
Let's RRROOOOLLLLLLL!!!!

City, City, City, City!!!!
YOU KKNNNOOOOOWWWW!!!!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This Second song I really like it comes from an ARMY cadence song "Down By the River". The Fans are truly NYCFC's army. Look at the 12th man from Seattle Seahawks.

" Down in the Ciiiiittttttyyyy,
We took a lil waallllkkk,
Ran into the Redbulls-----------------------------------------(or team of the day),
Had a lil taaaalllkkkk,

"None of these make any mention of the team or NYC."

Putting aside whether the song is long/hard to remember, or it is deemed to be 'bad,' many other supporters' chants/songs make no mention of the team name, nor the name of the location the team plays in. I fail to see why it is a prerequisite for a song/chant to incorporate New York City/NYCFC in the lyrics for it to be acceptable. If it is catchy, fairly easy to remember, and gets the crowd going, that would seem to be a good recipe, especially for a new team.
