USMNT Talk

So does Bob Bradley take over for the rest of qualifications?
What's Steve Sampson up to these days?
Bora?
Heck, Klinsmann?

Just an FYI, France missed two world cups before they won as hosts in 98. Hopefully we're building towards that!

They look terrible. It’s got to be the coaching staff if you have all these talented players and they all look lost and ineffective.

Team isn't organized and the fight isn't even there. These guys getting pushed off the ball and out fought for everyone ball..

Honduras are playing like their lives depend on it. Just like el Salvador. Our guys are just surviving.. barely.

But yea.. coaching is part of the problem with this pool of players to choose from

In the Twitterverse they’re screaming for Sands to get the hook at halftime.

No one is.

Honduras is taking them all to school. Passing around them like cones. Breaking the lines with ease. Our defensive shape is hideous and definitely not pressing as a team.

I don't know why everyone rates brooks so high.
Yes but He’s particularly bad. Worst I have ever seen him play. Falling down, undercutting passes, not tracking back.

Nobody is playing well but that doesn’t excuse his particular mistakes. His head is not on straight.

I haven't been following on Twitter because this has been hard enough to watch. That said, it doesn't surprise me. He's had a horrible night. Fortunately he's not alone so maybe he hasn't firmly played himself out of the picture yet. He's gotta show something though.

Berhalter took off brooks, sargent, and bello. Swtich to a 4-3-3. Let's see where this goes but I don't think we'll see much of a difference.

Pulisic
Dest
Reyna
Steffen

When will FIFA learn that this fixture congestion is insane? They're going to kill every player on the planet.

Sands out. Looked tired. But yedlin is not a better choice.

I think the stage got to sands.. nerves and pressure got him. Better second half but not the impact he usually has. Chin up my boy! Get em next time

That didn’t age well

Sands didn't play well. It happens, especially on your debut as a midfielder in Honduras during WCQ with a lot of pressure. Pepi managed to handle it well (though he too was pretty muted for most of the match), but our boy didn't. He'll go again and I'm sure we'll see him in the picture again many, many more times.

Fair play. Subs, starting at halftime, made all the difference and turned the game around. Wild.
The best thing about this is that it's just gonna feed more fire to the "are early subs important" ongoing debate on the forum here. lol!

The thing is, we don't know how the US would have played without those subs coming out of the half.......... but it sure seems like the three subs are what made the spark.
