Good catch. Has he ever been called, even to camp?

They hadn’t listed him in that rundown before today. He's been a youth player, so maybe they do this for those players, too?
I am mostly interested in seeing someone address how MLS would schedule if it has to accommodate:Interesting and important article from Brian Straus on the new FIFA proposals. It’s not the biennial World Cup that’s the problem; it’s the single international win does and what that will do to the cohesion and quality of the national teams themselves.
I am mostly interested in seeing someone address how MLS would schedule if it has to accommodate:
I think to start you just accept that the Leagues Cup will be played without some of the best players in both LigaMX and MLS Cup because they will be in some major international tournament. Maybe that's better than they miss league games, but that really knocks the shine off the LC tournament. It also provides an even bigger advantage to the depth the LMX teams can afford over MLS teams, and additionally helps teams who can build top rosters with players who are just below national team caliber, which is such a weird slice of talent to prioritize.
- a major world or regional tournament every summer
- an expanded Leagues Cup every summer
- one or two extended international breaks that fall within the MLS season
But those fewer but bigger windows, wow: "One proposal calls for a single four-to-five-week window centered around October. A second envisions two shorter breaks—one in October and a second in March-April."
Under the single big window, MLS would shut down for 3-4 weeks in the summer for LC, and maybe another 4-5 in October, which has traditionally been when MLS finishes its regular season. With 2 windows, there would be a 2-3 week window in March-April and again October. Both would require either starting the season in early February or finishing the season in November and playoff games in December if you shut down. The alternative would be to play the final games 3-6 games of the MLS season including perhaps Decision Day with decimated rosters.
It just shows how much of an afterthought MLS is that nobody has covered this - not even MLS itself.
I agree it's still unlikely even if these changes happen. But I think your instinct also is right that these changes would make it more likely than ever before. What are the chances this goes through and MLS decides it has no choice but to align the calendar with Europe? Very small chance of this happening, but I don't think it's an impossibility.
Would suck for any team in a football field like, Seattle, Revs, and Atlanta. Having to manage the schedules of the NFL plus the horrid lines. Then on a personal level of suck the Yankees and Mets won’t let us play in their winterized stadiums so we would all but guarantee we’d play in RBA until we get a new home. I think no matter what this hurts NYCFC because the Spring to Fall schedule will just get more compact and crowded and inflexible which makes scheduling at YS or Citi that much harder. Again I look back at the pre-Covid 202 schedule. NYCFC decided to take off every international break to avoid games with players missing. The result was 5-6 games at Citi plus more than the usual number of midweek games. It was the only way to make it fit.Would suck for any team in a football field like, Seattle, Revs, and Atlanta. I see this as more likely (at least more than a remote chance). This just screams for an aligned schedule. Makes me wonder if MLS starts requiring any new stadiums in cold climates have a retractable roof. What are the chances this goes through and MLS decides it has no choice but to align the calendar with Europe? Agreed. Not going to go to a match in Yankee Stadium in January when it's 3° out and windy, but I do think an aligned schedule would make everything else easier (match scheduling, international breaks, player/coach transfers, etc.)I see this as more likely (at least more than a remote chance). Or just covered stands with decent heating.I see this as more likely (at least more than a remote chance). This just screams for an aligned schedule. Makes me wonder if MLS starts requiring any new stadiums in cold climates have a retractable roof.
If they can have air conditioned stadiums in Qatar, we can have heated stadiums in AmericaOr just covered stands with decent heating.
After Qatar donates all of their stadiums, we can simply swap out the ac for heat!If they can have air conditioned stadiums in Qatar, we can have heated stadiums in America
Guys who have been through it before? That's so hypocritical. Pepi made his USMNT debut during the previous WCQ matches.
