USMNT Talk

Weird.

"The court’s opinion didn’t say why the union objected to the ad."

U.S chief soccer rival? National liquor of that rival?
If it's a union issue, it probably has to do with ownership of the players' likenesses in marketing. I wonder if each player reaps the $$ from marketing deals if they're the only one in the ad (or up to 5 players), but with six players the federation reaps the money because the numbers show collective representation of the team rather than an individual?

Faseciousness is difficult to express on the Internet. We need to grab beer.

I wonder if Morris will go to Europe after this season. Maybe on a January loan to the bundesliga? He's had a good season but not sure if it's such a good season that he'd get offers.

He will be a Sounder for the next two seasons. Economics of it don't make sense for Seattle to sell him until after year 3 when they can get the full amount of allocation dollars from the transfer. This is the same reason why DCU is waiting to until the end of the season to sell birnbaum and why orlando will wait until after next year to sell Larin. Also why we will have at least two more years of Mata and Harrison.

Did not realize that. Thanks for the clarification. I will sleep better tonight dreaming of 2017 and 2018 with Mata and Jack.

Actually, the declining scale only applies to Generation Adidas and Superdraft players (like Harrison and Larin). Teams get 1/3 credit for these players in the first year, rising to 1/2 in the second, and 2/3 thereafter.

Players acquired via a transfer or free agent signing (like Matarrita) provide 2/3 credit from the beginning. Homegrown players, (like Morris) provide 3/4 credit from the beginning.

Ok good to know. At least we will have Harrison then. I could see us moving Mata once we get a good offer. If we get over a million for him, it should be a nice profit.

I'd love to see:
Pulisic----Morris----Green
Kitchen---Gooch---Bradley
FJ---Brooks--Cameron--Yedlin

Maybe even move Green to ST and put Arriola on the wing, or in Gooch's spot. We got options.

The young attacking core we'll have for these games is so exciting. Most of them can interchange a lot as well (top3 + CAM). So much pace, so much potential. And yet Wondo still weasels his way into the 23...

This might be one of the matches where we field almost 2 different teams for each half.

Wondo call up is always a head scratcher.

I like Kitchen, but getting him on the field means pushing Bradley further up, where he is not very strong.

I'd honestly like to see Kitchen run out there with Bradley on the bench. We know what Bradley gives us, use the friendlies to see more from our other guys.

I don't know much about Gooch, haven't watched him play yet but excited to see what he can bring.

Julian Green needs to start against Mexico. And I'd start Wood over Altidore, he's done nothing but walk around this whole game.
Altidore needs someone to grab him by the * and tell him to fucking quit.
