USMNT Talk

I blame Klinsmann for this...

I'm turning a colleague in the office from Atlanta into a soccer fan through Atlanta United. He received an update on his phone that Wondo was called up to the US squad.

I had to explain to him the misery of 2014. Triggered.

I want to cry. It's going to suck having to wait for Qatar to watch a World Cup. And then it's going to be some weird, middle of the winter crapfest in a country that's violated basic human rights on a consistent basis directly related to their preparations.

I could not be less excited about international matches. I'll watch, but I've resigned myself to our fate. I'm betting we get at most 2 points, but I think a draw/loss is more likely.

You see. I'm so upset, I couldn't even write down the proper year.
It does seem like we've been living with the pain since 2010.
Considering the brilliance of the set play design and initial execution, that miss should have been a MNT career ender. The table cannot be set any more perfectly than fine china, silver, and crystal.

If wondo buries that, is Klinsi still coaching the USMNT?

Who knows? The team wasn't supposed to get that far because of the group, but they did.

Most likely, he'd have been hooked regardless because of the lack of points this time. It's about what have you done for me lately.

The real issue would be that Wondo would unfortunately be a lock for the roster each time.

That is a good question to ponder. But they way I look at it is this.

If Klinsi had taken Landon Donovan on the roster instead of Wondo, that would have been the sub there that would have happened. And Landon would have buried it. Combine that goal with the goal he scored against Algeria in South Africa, and holy hell.

But if if were Lando instead of Wondo, wouldn't Lando have flapped his butterfly wings and everything would have played out differently?

Was it SITC? I remember they suggested Mikey was a candidate for the USMNT last season. Man if it was, I need some of whatever they're smoking.
It was Mike. He brought RJ & Tommy back up in a cringeworthy moment during an interview with Chuck Boehm.

See that's why I stopped listening to BCR awhile ago.
I know. I swore off last year when he was pushing that stuff. But I went back when I was soccer hungry.

He tries so hard, though. I just ignore the tactical breakdown and listen for any news, etc.
