Our players are not that good to begin with, compared to other national squads, and Poch is not getting the best out of them.
We’ll be lucky to get out of the group stage.
That's my big takeaway. The player pool isn't nearly as good as we think it is.
In his Substack, Doyle hinted that Reyna and Scally might be in Poch’s doghouse because of something that happened in March. This is a good roster, and I am very happy Sands is part of it.
Among the no shows - Dest, Pepi and Reyna are hurt; Adams' wife is expected to deliver a baby in the next few days; Musah, Scally and Sargent were not called in despite being available.
There’s some rumor that they were clowning around with a golf cart after one of the losses in March, and that rubbed Poch the wrong way.In his Substack, Doyle hinted that Reyna and Scally might be in Poch’s doghouse because of something that happened in March.
I have no idea what that is.
Yes, I vaguely remember that now. Thanks. There’s some rumor that they were clowning around with a golf cart after one of the losses in March, and that rubbed Poch the wrong way.
We win 3-0.Watching U-20 World Cup on FS2. USA v. France. Americans have had the better of it so far, but still scoreless.
Were you not going to mention Jimmy Sands?!Another Matt Freese start. It's his starting spot to lose. Let's go Matty Ice!
And O'Neill. NYCFC the team with most players on the fieldWere you not going to mention Jimmy Sands?!
O’Neill just fouled Sands lol
I think his virtues, like excellent positional sense and reading of the game, don't shine as much without the tightly organized functioning that club soccer has. In the improvisational flow of national team soccer his athletic limitations are more visibleSands subbed out in the 64' for Tessmann. Did ok. No major gaffes but fairly anonymous. He's probably still on the bubble for the WC.
