White Supremacists In Supporter Section

It's another reminder that their "we can only ban someone if they act out in the stadium" is complete BS. They could deal with this problem if they wanted to. They've actively chosen to bury their heads in the sand, and it's incredibly dispiriting.
My reading of the letter was that he wasn't warned for his social media posts, but they chose to warn him (in the non-formal, non-official sense) that social media activity is also covered by MLS Fan Code of Conduct. Which def confuses things.

So is that a change or are they using different standards for different people? And if they are, why are nazis getting the benefit of the interpretation?

I'm not sure. I feel like it was more of the former since they referenced specific dates. "This includes posts which were sent via your social media channels on March 15, 2019 and April 28, 2019."

I think it got rolled out with the changes in March: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/03/01/mls-announces-updated-fan-code-conduct

I don't know that Nazis are getting the benefit of the interpretation. I don't know that they aren't either. Maybe you could share what you're referencing?

And again, it doesn't seem like this is the actual reason that Tommy got warned, but instead a bit of a red herring.

Question: What percentage of the NYCFC fanbase (i.e. anyone who goes to matches or follows the team regularly) do you think is aware of this situation/problem?

I'm referencing the fact that NYCFC has said they can't ban the nazis until they do something in the stadium, but are threatening to ban the anti-nazi person for stuff he does away from the stadium. The double-standard is shocking.

That's interesting - the NYCFC statement came out the same day as the new Code of Conduct (Mar 1, 2019) but doesn't reference social media at all:
Also, we are only seeing one piece of the puzzle. If there were others banned (Nazi or otherwise), they may have cited social media activity too.

in my nycfc circle its known all over. doesnt stop people from going to games though. outside of it but are MLS fans/soccer fans its minimal or at least have not brought it up to me.

that group may be that big i think, though maybe they not all present in every game same time.

if im being honest, and not really sure if youre looking for my opinion, i didnt really like this article. Which is kind of odd because I typically love everything the outfield puts out, as well as i find this topic very interesting. But I found it to be a tough read and I kept becoming uninterested. I had to force myself to push forward. Maybe it was just me, or maybe im just having an off day and tired. I also dont mean any offense whatsover in this criticism so i hope you dont take it that way.

No offense taken, thanks for trying to read it.
