It’s an issue in Italy and in many countries across Europe because of low populations. Save for France/England many countries are predominately white and ignorant.
I was born and lived in Bosnia until the age of 8 and my only knowledge of black people was Africans. I remember to this day when we immigrated here we had a stop in JFK to switch planes and it was the first time I’d ever seen a person of color in my life.
I do think people are a product of their surroundings and life experiences. Growing up in a country at war and having nothing taught me to be very humble. The immigration process places you in a state of their choosing depending on who sponsors you. The house we were placed in was in a low income area and actually connected to a Baptist church (literally wall to wall) and I grew up in America embracing African American culture. I can’t even fathom the idea of racism manifesting in someone mind because at such a young age it was removed from mine. I remember playing outside my house with kids from that church when service was over.
People are afraid of the unknown and I know from experience that European countries (mostly eastern) are full of nationalists and hate outsiders. Regardless of that being religious or race based.
I can’t really wrap up my thought as I have to punch in but just wanted to share my story.

What exactly is deemed an "MLS Official" and who was he? We are in an age where unverified tweets are taken as fact. Sounds like a play on Trump's Charlottesville comment tbh. Look at the comments from his tweet now. people are taking it as an official stance by the league. That's a dangerous herd mentality from a generation that believes opinions overrule facts for truth. The united front hashtag has been around and the concern is more about not being ejected than the actually message. He was ejected and his first tweet fizzled, now he comes out and says MLS told him that nonsense so his tweets are gold. Even if the league didn't believe it, there stance will always be no political message from either side, because they don't want to deal with it, not because they want it to be fair. It's a moot point, because I'm talking about the same generation that has made nobodies into somebodies because of social media.
