Who will win the league? Reach CL?

Great game from Liverpool. Finally sitting at the top of the league for the moment

As a Spurs fan, it has been a tough season, but as an EPL fan, I think it great to see a 3-horse race for the title that anyone could win. Imagine going into the final Sunday with MC, Chelsea, and Liverpool all even on points... It could happen.

Reminds me of a movie when a guy gets stuck in the traffic because there´s a march pro/against something and he jumps out screaming insults towards them until finally one of the marchers went up to him and asks why he calls them 'Spurs fans..

The guy in the car looks at him and says "Well, you really believe that things can get better eh?

City has maybe the toughest road still to go. Liverpool (A), Everton (A), Aston Villa and West Ham.

Chelsea has the easiest schedule left but also has the strain of Champions League.

Liverpool has the problem that they still have to play both City and Chelsea. They could realistically lose both and that'd pretty much finish them barring a miracle.

Also reminds of my favorite line from In Bruges: "Purgatory's kind of like the in-betweeny one. You weren't really shit, but you weren't all that great either. Like Tottenham." Ahh, well. Roll on the summer.

Big matches in the next two weeks, 6-pointers for both the title and 4th. If Liverpool and Everton keep rolling, it could spell happy days on Merseyside. And I would be perfectly content with that.

As an overly optimistic Everton Fan I see Everton in third at the end of the season ... yup, I said it. No real reason, just feels right.

I think 4th is about as high you can realistically hope, with the tough schedule, and pretty good form/talent level from the top 3. It really hinges on the next fixture vs The Arse

Well, not only that but the semis take place with the game at Liverpool sandwiched in the middle. How Chelsea views it chances in both competitions will have a big impact on how they play that game, which will in turn effect the entire EPL race.

1) Manchester City- being a fan and all, I do believe two games down and 4 points down is a pretty comfortable place to be with about a month left of play.
2) Chelsea- Strong, but shaky. If they could have kept their tempo up against teams like crystal palace, which should have been an easy 3 points, they would have easily taken the top.
3) Liverpool- I don't really know what to say about them. With the best striking duo in the EPL (Suarez and Sturridge) they should be good with attack but with an OK back, it kind of brings them down a bit.
4a) Arsenal- With a one point lead over Everton, it isn't safe to call a CL spot yet. Losing or tying their last couple of games, they could be too out of form to hold on to the 4th spot.
4b) Everton- With one of the strongest back line in the EPL, its hard to get a lead against them, and with Lukaku destroying up top, they pose a real threat to Arsenals CL chances.

That's my take on how the EPL season will end

Don't forget that Everton has a game in hand, as they along with City had a match canceled for storms. Everton still have to play city, but they get City at home.

That is true. Man City have had a shaky away record this season, so you can't really decide on a strong winner. Their next upcoming games are pretty straight forward though. Although City play Liverpool and Everton play Man U (who isn't really a threat now), they have some pretty good games coming up that should be wins.

City's away form was poor at the start of the season but it's much better now. They're undefeated in the last 10 away league matches.

Man City are now 6 pts back with one game in hand. That draw today was a horrible result for them

Liverpool - we have just fucking handed it to them on a plate gift wrapped with sparkly thingies on it.

Very unlikely that liverpool will drop points.
I think they will handle Chelsea despite missing Henderson. Sturridge is expected fit for Norwich so he should be fine for Chelsea.

I still reckon Chelsea will get something from that match but it will do little to change our position. That said, in the 11/12 season we were way behind only for United to collapse apocalyptically. But this time there are two teams above us.

It's not the teams ahead of MCFC that are the problem.

Max points right now are as follows:
1) LFC-89
2)CFC-87
3)MCFC-86.

If LFC & CFC draw, that becomes

1)LFC-87
2)MCFC-86
3)CFC-85.

Then you'd need LFC to drop points in one of the other 3 matches. That doesn't require a horrible series of events especially with LFC's defense.

What is difficult is that with the way MCFC has played is that MCFC is actually going to win all of its next 5 games, including on the road at Everton. That's the scenario that seems extremely unlikely to me.

City needed 4 points from the Arsenal/Liverpool games and got 1. City got a total of 1 points from both matches from Sunderland. City didn't give themselves the cushion they needed earlier in the year when they were in form and without injuries. As the quad cup chasing took its toll (which, as an aside, City should never attempt again. Next League Cup competition dang well better feature City players in a competition to rack up own goals. Let's focus on the big prizes, shall we?) City had too many tough away fixtures to keep the kind of pace the other teams could.
