Weather App has the city and NJ being mostly dry by 12 tomorrow, and even the rain today holding off until the night time. Tmo 0% chance of rain after kickoff.

thoughts on Pirlo breaking into the 11? Not if you want him to but if you think he will.

Not good. With Matarrita back I find it unlikely. Get the feeling PV looks at Pirlo as a last resort or someone that has to fit a particular game plan perfectly. Neither of which is the case here.

I don't understand this at all. It's titled "Escape from Newark", but they play in Harrison. And then they note that NYC is "torn" between two "overhyped" teams. Make up your mind.

Could have been made by someone other than a RB fan to poke fun at both of us.

I've been wondering about Pirlo for this one. I would think his skills at passing and reading the game would be valuable in breaking the press.

The other issue with Pirlo - which is the same for Matarrita - is whether they are good for going a full 90 after so much time off. Might be that they will be better off with a small shift as a reserve, but the coaches will know better on that.

not saying youre wrong but the last resort thing is speculation. Possibly correct speculation but speculation none the less. Before Pirlo was "injured" he was almost consistently making the starting 11. Anyway, well see what happens.

That's entirely true. It is speculation. Just a gut feeling after Pirlo didn't start the last game when he was presumably healthy. Can't remember against who.

I would prefer to move Jack to the #10 and have either Okoli or Lewis up top.

If not the above, I would prefer Pirlo in a midfield with Herrera and Ring than I would having TMac at either the wing or the #10.

Their press is aimed at not letting it get from Defense to MF. Once the CBs make the right pass we are off to the races.

The vaulted RB "high press" works great when you don;t know what you are doing, passing around the back. Which is why it has worked well against most crappy MLS defenses. Callens and Chanot are both good on the ball, I am predicting domination, and a ton of fouling from the whiny boys.
