What a load of garbage. I’ve played about 6 games of Ultimate Team and it’s unplayable. I didn’t play 19 whatsoever and decided to give this one a try. How do people find this enjoyable?
Passes aimed where I want them to go end up yards off directly at a defender.
My Ai defending is atrocious meanwhile CPU is stapled to my players.
The second I turn the ball over there’s a ball played over top to their winger which leads to a counter and a cross in the box.
Have a few steps on a defender and suddenly he catches up in 2 strides, pulls me back, steps in front and takes the ball.
I don’t recall 18 being like this.
I’ll have to give regular head to head a try but at this rate I’ll be trading it in.

Which FUT modes are you trying? Squad Battles? Division Rivals?

I was so used to 19 by the end that I'm still getting to grips with the nuances of 20.

I’m just playing against CPU right now.
Every time I’ve played a CPU team that’s close to my rating I can’t do anything. Don’t remember it being so hard. Can’t play a thru ball to save my life.

Well, a couple of things:

1. At the beginning of the game cycle your team is garbage (I'm assuming you're not playing with a pay-to-win squad right out of the gate). Even 82, 83, 84-rated cards have serious flaws and running feels like trying to slalom in a garbage truck. Bad passing, bad shooting, bad defending, everything.

2. It takes a lot of time to internalize the little bits of skill necessary to squeeze out wins. Picking the right types of passes and shots, figuring out just how patient you need to be to read the game, getting used to how easily certain types of passes are intercepted, etc. For example, through-balls are much more easily intercepted than normal ground passes unless the through-ball is very on and the passing player has high passing stats.

3. 19 introduced an entire tactical system for setting up your team which is far deeper, more nuanced and more detailed than the limited D-pad tactical instructions (which still exist, too). You really have to build tactics to suit your squad (or build a squad to suit your tactics).

4. Playing against the CPU sucks and I only recommend playing Squad Battles for grinding out rewards, which is necessary. Division Rivals is where it's at; ELO-style online matchups with players who are roughly as good as you are. The mode is highly susceptible to network issues, but it feels much more satisfying than playing against the CPU.

Not doing p2W but I bought a squad worth of 250-650 gold players from BPL after completing some of the coin challenges and playing with a 60 something squad for a few games. So I’m at 100% Chemistry.
Guess I just have to grind for a while and work to upgrade my roster position by position.
I’ll lower the difficulty as well until I learn how to play around the defense. Right now I’m stumped lol.

Typical fucking EA Sports. Forget being good at the game or practicing. If you aren't willing to spend a lot of extra money on players, you will suck.

Seasons / Online Seasons? Friendlies? Career Mode? Pro Clubs? There's a futsal mode now called Volta.

I used to love playing Fifa but I haven't had a game system since my Xbox 360 got the red ring of death. It sounds to me like they've made everything too complicated and difficult to be fun anymore. I think I'd be super overwhelmed if I ever tried to get into it again.

I’ve given it a few days and I’m done. Told myself I wouldn’t buy downloadable games anymore and I made the mistake of doing it with FIFA 20. The ai is so bad. My players have zero reaction to a ball feet away from them. The passing is laughable. I’ll literally be holding L3 right to play a through ball and it’ll pass to a covered LB making an overlapping run directly above me.
Not worth the stress trying to justify playing this game.

I finally gave up after 18. It would make me rage. The scripting is for getting people (mainly kids) to spend money on packs. They use addiction inducing tactics. I vowed to never give them a penny of my money again. I have PTSD and feel my anxiety kicking in just talking about it.

Was looking at PES, especially since they have Bayern now too hahaha. FIFA was great but the past 2-3 years/renditions have just been progressively worse. Haven't purchased a copy of FIFA myself in 2 years. All the downloadable and tradeable card shit doesn't interest me. I enjoy just plugging in the game, select a club/country, and play. Only customization I want is kit and formation.

PES you can customize kits. I think the gameplay is better in PES, but idk if that's just me or not... Also, when you lose it doesn't feel like scripting beat you, it feels like you were just beaten.

I am horrible at Fifa 20...but then again, I was horrible at every Fifa I have played since Fifa 04. I usually played on PS4, but for the first time (since 04) I am playing on PC with an Xbox controller, so getting used to that. All in all, I am a pretty casual player, and I am enjoying it.
