I'm not a fan of the Matrix so I don't really know what you are talking about. Correlation and causality are concepts of logic and reason.

Your arguement is that it is Jason Kreis' fault that Adam Nemec sucked for NYCFC. Your evidence is that he scored goals before Jason Kreis and scored goals after Jason Kreis. I'll even let pass your evidence that a player that scores goals in the Romanian league should score goals in MLS. You are passing false cause because that statistical evidence does not support that it is Jason Kreis's fault, just that Nemec struggled at NYCFC and that Jason Kreis was his coach at the time.

I could present a similar fallacious arguement that since global temperatures have increased at the same time the number of pirates have decreased, so the reason we have global warming today is because we don't have enough pirates.

Are you trying to induce bad LSAT flashbacks for half this forum???

Most people tag others, but whatever.

You claimed I insulted you and yet give no examples, and you claim Nemec was underwhelming at every other club he played for but gave no examples other than casually disparaging the Romanian League - that's a whole hell of a lot false cause with no statistical evidence. Tisk, tisk....

Yes, I'm fully aware of Logic and Reason, I took it in Middle school after finishing algebra. Here's an easy one for you:

N -> C: If Nemec's game is shit then Jason Kreis is his coach
~C: Jason Kreis isn't his coach
------------
~N: Nemec's game is not shit
Modus Tollins

The difference in your Global Warming Pirates fallacious argument and my statement, is that there's no quantifiable if/then cause/effect (Modus Ponens) relationship between your examples, whereas one can see statistical relationships between NYCFC players' statistics before/after playing for Kreis and when playing for Kreis. It wasn't just Nemec, but Lampard, Pirlo, Iraola, & Shelton also didn't play well under Kreis. These are all guys that saw their offensive production (defensive for Iraola) hampered under Kreis. He's replaced and they all have vastly different seasons. I doubt Orlando players would stand up for Kreis and say they played better offense (or defense) with him.

And I'll leave you with one last piece of logic since you brought up "Correlation does not imply causation"..... with any logical fallacy, identifying that the reasoning behind an argument is flawed does not imply that the resulting conclusion is false.

Ill let you win the whether Nemec was good or not arguement.

Doesnt imply its true either ;)

I would have started a thread, but I am afraid. Go for it, if you are brave enough. And maybe add a 2017 Pre-season Thread if you're really daring. Of course, unless one already exists.
What player do they have that we would want? This has got to be a friendly to help pay for a player(s). Why else travel that distance for a 1-off game? It's not like we need experience this year preparing for the CCL.

"We are looking forward to our friendly against C.S. Emelec which will be our first test of the 2017 season."

So we know that there will be no friendlies before this game...

In the old days of the Forums, a new poster from a far-away land would always pop up when we were discussing a player or a team from that far-away land, opine, answer some questions, and then disappear forever. Fan from Ecuador, we welcome you (temporarily).
